Job summary

Unity Green is seeking a Production & Maintenance Manager to oversee machine operations, maintenance, and safety across a multi-site production environment in Pune. The role requires hands-on supervision, ability to draw up schedules, allocate resources, and manage budgets to meet daily targets.

You will lead maintenance teams, supervise production supervisors, and drive continuous improvement in quality, efficiency, and safety standards across sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in production and maintenance roles in manufacturing.
• Experience in managing teams and achieving production targets is desirable.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Machine Operations & Maintenance:
  • Oversee the production site's machinery, including shredders, hammer mills, and pelletmachines.
  • Utilize basic mechanical and electrical knowledge to manage preventive andbreakdown maintenance.
  • Develop and lead a maintenance team to ensure machines are operating efficiently.
• Production Management:
  • Supervise production supervisors across eight sites to achieve daily production targetswhile utilizing full capacity.
  • Draw up production schedules, allocate resources effectively, and manage budgets forongoing projects.
  • Continuously monitor manufacturing processes to ensure quality, efficiency, and safetycompliance.
• Quality Control & Problem Resolution:
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues in the production line, providing recommendationsand actionable solutions.
  • Conduct regular training sessions for production supervisors and maintenance teams toaddress recurring issues and improve overall performance.
• Safety & Environmental Compliance:
  • Establish and enforce safety procedures and protocols to ensure the well-being ofworkers and the environment.
  • Identify and address unsafe practices and ensure the production process minimizes thecarbon footprint.
• Documentation & Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate records of production schedules, maintenance activities, and qualitychecks.
  • Prepare detailed reports on production efficiency, safety incidents, and maintenanceoutcomes for review by management.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or relatedfield.
• Experience
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in production and maintenance roles in a manufacturing environment
  • Prior experience in managing teams and achieving production targets is highlydesirable
• Technical Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with heavy-duty machinery and industrial safety standards.
