Job summary

JDS Transformers Industries Pvt Ltd in India seeks a proactive production leader to oversee daily plant review, production planning, and shop floor supervision across core, winding, assembly, testing and finish stages. You will ensure adherence to process standards and safety practices while coordinating with design for new products and changes.

The role focuses on technical reviews, quality assurance, CAPA implementation, material planning, dispatch readiness, and next-day planning to sustain

Responsibilities

• Daily plant review of production output, rejections, breakdowns, pending jobs and dispatch status.
• Identify gaps and initiate corrective actions to keep schedules on track.
• Conduct daily production meetings with Planning, Quality, SCM and Testing teams.
• Ensure alignment of production schedules with dispatch commitments.
• Monitor activities across core, winding, assembly, tanking, testing and finishing.
• Ensure adherence to process standards and safety practices on the shop floor.
• Review critical transformer drawings, BOM, winding data and assembly processes for accuracy.
• Ensure technical accuracy for high-value and critical jobs.
• Analyze rejections, rework, customer complaints and testing failures; drive CAPA.
• Monitor availability of materials and coordinate with SCM to avoid delays.
• Track actual production vs targets and optimize manpower and machine utilization.
• Coordinate with design for new products, GTP approvals, and design changes; support type-test and development jobs.
• Ensure smooth execution of routine and type testing; support failure analysis and corrective actions.
• Monitor copper and material wastage; control rework, overtime and drive productivity.
• Review readiness of transformers for dispatch and coordinate inspections for timely delivery.
• Plan next-day production targets ensuring material, manpower and machine availability.

Job description

Key Responsibilities:

1. Daily Plant Review

• Review previous days production output, rejection, breakdown, pending jobs, and dispatch status
• Identify gaps and initiate corrective actions

2. Production Planning & Coordination

• Conduct daily production meetings with Planning, Quality, SCM, and Testing teams
• Ensure alignment of production schedules with dispatch commitments

3. Shop Floor Supervision

• Monitor activities across core, winding, assembly, tanking, testing, and finishing
• Ensure adherence to process standards and safety practices

4. Technical Review

• Review critical transformer drawings, BOM, winding data, and assembly processes
• Ensure technical accuracy for high-value and critical jobs

5. Quality & Failure Analysis

• Analyze rejections, rework, customer complaints, and testing failures
• Implement CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions)

6. Material Planning & Availability

• Monitor availability of copper, CRGO, insulation materials, tanks, and accessories
• Coordinate with SCM to avoid production delays

7. Production Execution

• Track actual production vs targets
• Optimize manpower and machine utilization
• Identify and resolve bottlenecks

8. Design Coordination

• Coordinate with design team for new products, GTP approvals, and design changes
• Support type-test and development jobs

9. Testing & Quality Assurance

• Ensure smooth execution of routine and type testing
• Support failure analysis and corrective action implementation

10. Cost & Productivity Control

• Monitor copper and material wastage
• Control rework, overtime, and improve productivity
• Work towards cost reduction initiatives

11. Dispatch & Delivery Management

• Review readiness of transformers for dispatch
• Coordinate inspections and ensure timely delivery commitments

12. Next-Day Planning

• Plan next day production targets
• Ensure availability of material, manpower, and machines
