Job summary

Octillion Power Systems is seeking an experienced mechanical design engineer with 8-10 years in automotive parts design. You will design battery pack enclosures, modules, frames and mounting structures, while creating 3D CAD models and 2D drawings.

The role emphasizes DFM influence, GD&T, and BOM preparation, with collaboration across CAE/CFD teams during proto builds. Applicants should be proficient in Catia and ProE, and have hands-on PLM and EBOM/MBOM release experience.

Qualifications

• BE/ME/MTech in Mechanical or Automobile Eng required.
• 8–10 years in automotive mechanical parts design and development.
• Hands-on experience with DFM, DFS, DFA for automotive parts.

Job description

Role & responsibilities:

• 1. Design battery pack enclosures, modules, frames, brackets, and mounting structures
• 2. Develop 3D CAD models and 2D manufacturing drawings
• 3. Optimize designs for strength, weight, cost, and manufacturability
• 4. Perform tolerance stack-up and GD&T for critical interfaces
• 5. Prepare EBOM and MBOM
• 6. Work with supplier for DFM, DFA
• 7. Prepare 8D report for any field failure
• 8. Prepare DFMEA for battery pack system
• 9. Prepare for IATF and ISO audits
• 10. Work closely with CAE/CFD engineer to get the CAE/CFD analysis of battery pack system
• 11. Work closely with NPD team while building proto packs.

Preferred candidate profile:

• BE/ME/MTech in Mechanical or Automobile Eng
• Minimum 8 to 10 years experience in Automotive Mechanical parts design and development
• Working experience of Catia and ProE
• Knowledge & experience of PLM, EBOM, MBOM and EBOM release system
• Hands-on experience to conduct DFM, DFS, DFA for automotive parts (battery or traction system experience is preferred)
• Knowledge of processes like stamping, casting, machining, and sheet metal fabrication
• Knowledge of CAE and CFD analysis, material properties
