Job summary

PCB Jobs Search Consultant is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design and detailing for battery systems used in mobility applications. The role involves translating technical specifications into detailed 3D models, manufacturing documentation, and compliant drawings, with collaboration across production, QA, and supply chain teams.

The candidate will work with CAD tools (Cero Parametric 9.0 or higher) and Windchill PLM, performing ECR/ECO updates and ensuring GD&T and tolerance

Job description

Role & responsibilities Mechanical Engineer is responsible for mechanical design and detailing of battery systems (Alkaline and Li-ion) for mobility applications. Translates technical specifications into detailed designs, 3D models, and manufacturing documentation. Ensures design quality, manufacturability, and compliance while supporting cross-functional project execution. Detailed 2D drawings (fabrication, assembly, harness) based on engineering inputs. Translate engineering specification, customer requirement's, safety, industrial requirements, REX and internal guidelines rules into accurate technical documentation. Implement engineering changes (ECR/ECO updates) in drawings. Proper documentation in PLM (Article, 3D, drawings, BoM, data sheets). Interface with cross-functional teams in prototype builds, manufacturing, and assembly (Production, supply Chain, QA, validations, Electrical, FEA and RAMS). The design rules and return of experience. Perform self-checks and participate in peer reviews of drawings. Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations like EN\IEC\ISO. Support improvement of drafting standards and best practices

Preferred candidate profile Around 5 to 10 + years experience required in product development cycle. Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes, with hands on experience in Design For manufacturing & Assembly. Knowledge on welding, plastics, sheet-metal work, assembly processes and cable harness is necessary. Knowledge of technical English. Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members. Mechanical domain experience - designs with product life cycle experience. Supports engineering team by converting design inputs into manufacturing-ready documentation. Proficiency in CAD software to work in 3D\2D\Sheetmetal\Cabling modules using Cero parametric 9.0 or higher. Experience in PLM system Windchill. Good Knowledge of change management process (ECR\ECO). Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), Stack-up analysis are added advantages

Battery system knowledge is an added advantage.
