Job summary

Ratan Plastics in Mumbai is seeking a product lifecycle professional to manage end-to-end houseware product development, commercialization, launch, and performance management. You will work closely with design, tooling, manufacturing, procurement, quality, sales, marketing, finance and supply chain to deliver consumer-focused, cost-efficient, compliant, and profitable products.

The role also involves tracking market trends and opportunities to drive growth.

Responsibilities

• Identify product opportunities via consumer insights, market visits, sales data & competition analysis.
• Create product briefs detailing design, materials, specs, labeling, and launch milestones.
• Coordinate with design, tooling, packaging, quality, and production teams.
• Develop product roadmaps covering demand, pricing, margins & tooling payback.
• Manage timelines and coordinate cross-functional teams for timely launches.
• Track product performance across sales, inventory, quality, and customer feedback.
• Recommend cost improvements and product upgrades.

Role overview

Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of plastic houseware products. Collecting market and consumer insights, gap analysis, opportunity identification, trend tracking, orchestrating product development, commercialization, launch, product performance management.

Working closely with product design, tooling, manufacturing, procurement, quality, sales, marketing, finance, and supply chain to deliver consumer-focused, cost-effective, compliant, and profitable products.

Key responsibilities

• Identify product opportunities through consumer insights, market visits, sales data and competitor analysis. Commissioning market/consumer field/in-home research where necessary for the same.
• Develop product specification/brief to serve as an input for the necessary cross‑functional teams including end consumer needs and preferences in terms of design/features/material/finish/graphics/labelling requirements, dimensional outline, material content(weight), applicable quality/performance test parameters, launch market and timeline.
• Coordinate with product design, mould development, testing, graphic design, packaging, quality team and commercial production.
• Develop product roadmaps, covering demand, pricing, margins, investment requirements, and tooling payback.
• Manage project timelines and coordinate cross‑functional teams to ensure timely product launches.
• Track product performance from all perspective of sales, inventory, quality, customer feedback etc. Monitoring to ensure products meet applicable quality, safety, material, labelling, packaging, and sustainability requirements.
• Recommend cost improvements, product upgrades, repositioning, range modifications.
