Job summary

SpaceBasic, Inc. is seeking a Product Manager to own the product end-to-end, simplify workflows, and bring AI and automation into campus operations. You will prototype with Figma and vibe coding and work closely with engineers to ship features that improve student and staff experiences.

You'll balance UX, technical feasibility and customer feedback, while collaborating with the CS-led onboarding and success teams to drive adoption across universities.

THE ROLE:

We're looking for a Product Manager to make SpaceBasic a better experience for every college admin, warden and student. You'll own the product end to end, simplify workflows, bring AI and automation into everyday campus operations, and raise the bar on customer experience.

This is a hands-on role: less time on long documents, more time prototyping, vibe coding, reading APIs and shipping side by side with engineers.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Live inside a product that colleges already rely on every day, and keep making it more delightful to use.
• Craft screens and flows that let admins, wardens and students get more done in fewer taps.
• Carry forward our clean, minimal, mobile-first design across every new feature.

Workflows

• Take our core campus workflows (attendance, leave, mess, fees, gate access, maintenance, visitor management) to the next level of speed and simplicity.
• Build on our CS-led onboarding so colleges go live even faster.

AI and automation

• Spot opportunities to automate campus operations and our Customer Success processes.
• Shape our AI roadmap, including the Roomie assistant, smart analytics and automated alerts.
• Spend time with college admins and students, and turn their ideas into what we build next.
• Partner with Customer Success to drive adoption and long-term customer love.

Build, don't just spec

• Prototype ideas yourself in Figma, Lovable or with vibe coding before engineering picks them up.
• Read API docs and code well enough to know what's possible, what's quick and what's hard.
• Write lightweight specs when needed; a working prototype usually says more.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We're open to two profiles, and nothing in between:

• Early-career builder (2-3 years): sharp, curious, ships fast and already builds things with AI tools.
• Senior product leader (8+ years): has shaped products end to end and can raise the bar for the whole team.

Either way, you'll bring:

• An engineering background (CS degree or time as a developer). Our ideal hire combines engineering with a strong customer-experience instinct.
• Hands-on skill with Figma, Lovable and vibe-coding tools.
• The ability to read API docs and talk technical detail with engineers.
• A sharp eye for UX: you notice friction and can't leave it alone.
• Comfort moving fast, taking direct feedback and redoing work when it misses the mark.

NICE TO HAVE

• Experience building products in edtech.
• SQL, HTML or basic front-end skills.
• Experience shipping AI or LLM-powered features.
• Background in customer success, support or implementation.
• Familiarity with Indian higher education and how colleges run day to day.
