Job summary

Airtel Payments Bank seeks an experienced Product Manager to lead onboarding for Savings Bank Accounts and PPI wallets, driving end-to-end KYC journeys across digital and assisted channels.

The role requires expertise in RBI UIDAI/KYC directives, biometric, OTP, video KYC, and effective cross-functional execution to ship compliant, scalable onboarding experiences.

Qualifications

• 58 years of experience in banking, payments, or regulated fintech.
• Proven experience in building and scaling digital onboarding/KYC journeys.
• Experience with Savings Account and Wallet (PPI) products preferred.
• Deep understanding of RBI KYC Master Directions, UIDAI AUA/KUA, OTP/Biometric/Video KYC, wallet guidelines.
• Hands-on experience in designing user journeys and writing PRDs; collaborating with engineers.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end product roadmap for SBA and PPI wallet onboarding across digital and assisted channels.
• Design and optimize KYC journeys (Biometric, OTP, Paper, Video KYC, Re-KYC) and related flows.
• Translate regulatory directives into actionable product requirements and ensure compliance.
• Collaborate with compliance, legal, tech, design, ops, and business teams to ship compliant products.
• Monitor KYC success rates, funnel metrics, onboarding time, and drop-offs; drive optimization.
• Manage integration with UIDAI (AUA/KUA), CERSAI, CKYCR and other onboarding ecosystem players.
• Enable automation, self-serve tools and real-time validations to reduce onboarding friction.
• Represent product during internal and regulatory audits with clear process articulation.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and regulatory-savvy Product Manager to lead the onboarding product charter for Savings Bank Accounts (SBA) and Prepaid Payment Instruments (PPI/Wallets) at Airtel Payments Bank. The ideal candidate must have prior experience in a banking or regulated fintech setup and a strong track record in building end-to-end digital KYC and onboarding journeys, including Biometric e-KYC, OTP KYC, Video KYC, and wallet onboarding (min/full KYC). This role requires a mix of product expertise, regulatory understanding, and cross-functional execution skills to build compliant, scalable, and customer-friendly onboarding experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end product roadmap for Savings Account and PPI Wallet onboarding across all digital and assisted channels.
• Design, build, and continuously improve journeys such as:
  • Full KYC Savings Account Onboarding (Biometric, OTP, Paper)
  • Full KYC and Minimum KYC Wallet Onboarding
  • Face Auth / Video KYC onboarding
  • Re-KYC and KYC refresh journeys
  • Biometric e-KYC and AUA/KUA architecture
  • Passbook/Statement Access
  • Dormancy Removal/Reactivation Flows
• Translate RBI, UIDAI, PPI Master Direction, and PMLA circulars into product requirements and ensure end-to-end compliance.
• Work closely with compliance, legal, technology, design, ops, and business teams to ship compliant and customer-centric products.
• Ensure KYC success rates, funnel conversion, onboarding time, and drop-offs are continuously monitored and optimized.
• Manage the integration with UIDAI (AUA/KUA), CERSAI, CKYCR, and other onboarding ecosystem players.
• Enable automation, self-serve tools, and real-time validations to reduce friction in the onboarding experience.
• Represent product during internal and regulatory audits, ensuring accurate and confident articulation of processes.

Candidate Profile

• 58 years of experience in banking, payments, or regulated fintech. Classification | Public
• Proven experience in building and scaling digital onboarding/KYC journeys.
• Experience working on both Savings Account and Wallet (PPI) products preferred.
• Deep understanding of:
  • RBI KYC Master Directions
  • UIDAI AUA/KUA protocols
  • OTP, Biometric, and Video KYC
  • Wallet (PPI) guidelines and onboarding limits
  • Dormancy/reactivation processes
• Hands-on experience in:
  • Designing user journeys and writing product requirement documents.
  • Collaborating with backend and frontend engineers.
  • Launching and scaling products in agile teams.
• Strong communication and documentation skills - capable of translating complex compliance needs into product flows.
• Analytical thinker with data-driven decision-making - ability to work with SQL/data dashboards to analyse, onboarding ,performance.
• Proactive in identifying gaps, solving for edge cases, and building robust journeys across platforms (app, assisted, web, IVR, USSD).
