The candidate should have 7+ years of experience in mechanical/electrical automotive engineering and will collaborate with Powertrain, Software, Thermal, and Body teams to deliver competitive products that meet customer needs.

Qualifications

  • B.Tech or M.Tech in Mechanical, Automotive, Mechatronics, or Electrical & Electronics.
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in vehicle electrical architecture and safety standards.
  • Project management tools preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform FMEA/DFMEA to identify single-point failures and mitigate risks.
  • Analyze road trip data to identify performance gaps and opportunities.
  • Prepare HOQ to translate customer needs into specs.
  • Design full-vehicle electrical architectures (12V/48V and HV).
  • Select electrical components (connectors, fuses, ECUs, PDUs).
  • Define ISO 26262 and EMC/EMI requirements.
  • Collaborate with Powertrain, Software, Thermal, and Body teams.
  • Define pinouts, CAN/LIN/Ethernet interfaces.
  • Create DVP&R documents for electrical system acceptance.
  • Lead 8D/root-cause analyses during prototyping and pre-production.
  • Coordinate mule vehicle development and testing.
  • Conduct benchmarking studies against competitors.
  • Communicate effectively across departments in APQP/Stage-Gate cycles.
  • Support vehicle development aligned with customer requirements.

Job Title / Role: Product Engineer

Education Qualification: B.Tech or M.Tech in Mechanical / Automotive / Mechatronics/ Electrical & Electronics.

Required Experience: Minimum of 7 years
Purpose of the Role : Drive innovation and efficiency in vehicle development by leveraging road trip data analysis, preparing HOQ, coordinating mule vehicle development, creating preliminary BOMs, planning project resources, and benchmarking to ensure competitive products that meet customer needs.
RoleDescription
  • Perform Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA/DFMEA) to identify single-point failures and mitigate operational risks.
  • Analyze road trip data to identify performance gaps and improvement opportunities.
  • Prepare House of Quality (HOQ) to translate customer needs into engineering specifications.
  • Design and define full-vehicle electrical system architectures, including low-voltage (12V/48V) and high-voltage (HV) power distribution networks.
  • Select and size electrical components, including connectors, fuses, relays, busbars, power distribution units (PDUs), and Electronic Control Units (ECUs).
  • Define functional safety (ISO 26262) and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC/EMI) requirements for all electrical sub-systems.
  • Collaborate with Powertrain, Software, Thermal, and Body teams to integrate electrical hardware into the total vehicle envelope.
  • Knowledge and understanding to define pinouts, communication interfaces (CAN, LIN, Ethernet), and power supply logic.
  • Formulate Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R) documents for electrical system acceptance.
  • Lead root-cause analysis (8D / Why-Why methodologies) for electrical defects during prototype builds & pre-production runs.
  • Coordinate mule vehicle development and testing activities.
  • Conduct benchmarking studies to compare product performance against competitors.
  • Excellent communication skills for managing cross-department dependencies and ability to work effectively in fast-paced product development cycles (APQP / Stage-Gate process).
