Key Responsibilities: Electrical Engg
- Responsible for the development of vehicle electrical accessories from concept stage through production launch.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including Vehicle Engineering, EE Architecture, Body Electronics, Software, Validation, Purchasing, Supplier Quality, Manufacturing, Homologation, and Program Management to ensure timely project execution.
- Prepare and review product technical specifications, electrical architecture, wiring interface requirements, CAN/LIN communication requirements, and system integration documents.
- Review supplier proposals, technical drawings, BOMs, wiring harness layouts, connector selections, and electrical schematics.
- Ensure compatibility of accessories with vehicle electrical architecture, BCM, Gateway, CAN/LIN network, and infotainment systems.
- Support packaging studies and installation feasibility for electrical accessories in collaboration with vehicle packaging and body engineering teams.
- Conduct technical reviews with suppliers and evaluate design feasibility, reliability, manufacturability, and cost optimization.
- Coordinate prototype development, bench validation, vehicle installation, debugging, and functional verification.
- Support software integration activities wherever applicable for electrical accessories.
- Prepare Engineering Change Requests (ECR), Engineering Change Notices (ECN), and support product release documentation.
- Review DFMEA, PFMEA, DVP&R, test plans, and validation reports to ensure product quality and reliability.
- Coordinate environmental, EMC/EMI, vibration, thermal, ingress protection, and vehicle-level validation activities.
- Participate in design reviews, gateway reviews, and program milestone meetings.
- Drive cost reduction, value engineering, localization, and supplier development initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with automotive standards, regulatory requirements, and OEM engineering guidelines.
- Support field issue analysis, warranty investigations, and continuous product improvement activities.
Experience :
Essential: 6+ years of experience in Electrical Product development, automobile industry.
Desirable:Experience in development of vehicle infotainment, cameras, body electronics, ADAS accessories, telematics, or connected vehicle systems.
Specific Skill Requirement :
- Strong knowledge of Automotive Electrical Architecture.
- Good understanding of CAN, LIN, Ethernet, UART, USB, SPI, and I2C communication protocols.
- Experience in electrical accessories integration with BCM, Gateway, Instrument Cluster, and Infotainment systems.
- Ability to read, interpret, and review electrical schematics, wiring harness drawings, connector drawings, circuit diagrams, and pin mapping documentation.
- Knowledge of automotive connectors, terminals, fuses, relays, and power distribution.
- Familiarity with CAN analysis tools such as Vector CANoe, CANalyzer, PCAN, or similar.
- Understanding of automotive validation standards including EMC/EMI, ESD, environmental, vibration, ingress protection, and reliability testing.
- Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, DFMEA, PFMEA, DVP&R, and change management processes.
- Experience in supplier technical discussions, design reviews, and project management.
- Good understanding of vehicle diagnostics and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of automotive standards such as ISO 26262, ISO 16750, CISPR 25, ISO 11452, and OEM electrical requirements is an added advantage.
- Basic knowledge of CAD tools (CATIA, Creo, or NX) for installation feasibility is desirable
