Job summary

Alfa Laval is hiring a Product & Application Engineer for Flow & Heat Transfer Process Equipment based in Pune, India. You will advise technically, size and price heat exchangers, agitators, valves, pumps and related fluid handling products for industries like sugar, edible oils and wastewater.

You will partner with sales teams to present value propositions, run virtual meetings and lead local training programs while ensuring governance and customer satisfaction throughout the sales cycle.

Qualifications

• Mechanical or Chemical Engineering graduate / diploma holder with experience handling quotations and customer communication.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in Food, Pharma and Water industries.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with External & Inside Sales teams to meet or exceed customer requirements and expectations.
• Lead the technical part of customer requests during visits (in-person or virtual) and interactions with customers, focusing on product presentations to offer a customized value proposition.
• Lead and support the quotation process in customer projects.
• Run virtual meetings, webinars, and seminars to raise awareness of Alfa Laval products and services; act as product champion in campaigns.
• Deliver local training programs for Alfa Laval employees, channels and customers.
• Use CRM and other tools consistently to support the sales process and inform decision-making.
• Ensure governance and business principles are observed within the area of responsibility.

We are looking for a passionate & dedicated Product and Application Engineer who will be based out of Pune, India or Cairo, Egypt.

P&A Engineer is a key technical advisor and product advocate to actively drive and to manage the technology evaluation stage of the sales process.

The person would be closely working with Flow & Heat Transfer Products within Business Unit WIFH. Foundational technical knowledge of Heat Transfer & thermal products for Industrial applications like Sugar, Edible Oil, Starch, Ethanol and Wastewater will be an advantage. Candidate must have experience in technically sizing and pricing of Heat Exchanger, Agitator, Valves, Pumps & other fluid handling products.

About the job

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

Work with the External & Inside Sales teams to meet and where possible exceed the customer’s

requirements/expectations, which include:

• Work with existing relations or in products and in what is generated by sales team
• Lead the technical part of a customer requests making visits (physically or virtually), meetings and interactions with customers, focusing on product presentations to offer a customized value proposition to the customer.
• Lead and Support in the quotation process in a customer project.
• Run virtual meetings, virtual seminars and webinars to increase awareness of AL products and services Be product champion in a product launch campaign or in product campaigns and drives.
• Be local trainer for a specific product and application: Define and delivery local training programs for the AL employees, channels and customers.
• Use the One CRM tool and other tools in a consistent and qualitative way, to support the sales process and take decisions
• Responsible to ensure business principles and governance are adhered to within area of responsibility

• Technical Knowledge - Competent in various heat transfer & fluid handling processes and products.
• Knowledge of Commercial /incoterms
• Good listening skills - active listening skills to comprehend customers’ technical requirements.

Qualification & Experience

Mechanical or Chemical Engineering graduate / Diploma holder as Product & Application Engineer having robust experience of handling quotations and customer communication.

Minimum 3~5 Years of experience in any similar Food, Pharma and Water Industries.
