Job summary

Alfa Laval Mid Europe GmbH is hiring a Product & Application Engineer for Flow & Heat Transfer Process Equipment based in Pune. You will advise customers, size and price heat transfer and fluid handling equipment, and support sales with technical excellence.

You will lead technical discussions, deliver engaging presentations, and train local teams and customers on product applications to strengthen Alfa Laval’s market leadership in energy, food and marine segments.

Qualifications

• Mechanical or Chemical Engineering degree or diploma with relevant experience in quotations and customer communication.
• 3–5 years of experience in food, pharma or water industries or related process equipment sectors.
• Experience sizing and pricing heat exchangers, agitators, valves, pumps and other fluid handling products.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with External & Inside Sales to meet customer requirements and coordinate with sales teams.
• Lead the technical part of customer requests through visits (in-person or virtual) and product presentations.
• Lead and support quotation processes in customer projects and ensure accurate proposals.
• Conduct virtual meetings, seminars and webinars to raise awareness of Alfa Laval products and services.
• Champion products in launches and campaigns and drive local product campaigns.
• Deliver local training programs for Alfa Laval employees, channels and customers.

We are hiring Product & Application Engineer for Flow & Heat Transfer Process Equipment! We are looking for a passionate & dedicated Product and Application Engineer who will be based out of Pune, India or Cairo, Egypt. P&A Engineer is a key technical advisor and product advocate to actively drive and to manage the technology evaluation stage of the sales process. The person would be closely working with Flow & Heat Transfer Products within Business Unit WIFH. Foundational technical knowledge of Heat Transfer & thermal products for Industrial applications like Sugar, Edible Oil, Starch, Ethanol and Wastewater will be an advantage. Candidate must have experience in technically sizing and pricing of Heat Exchanger, Agitator, Valves, Pumps & other fluid handling products.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

• Work with the External & Inside Sales teams to meet and where possible exceed the customer’s requirements/expectations, which include: Work with existing relations or in products and in what is generated by sales team
• Lead the technical part of a customer requests making visits (physically or virtually), meetings and interactions with customers, focusing on product presentations to offer a customized value proposition to the customer.
• Lead and Support in the quotation process in a customer project.
• Run virtual meetings, virtual seminars and webinars to increase awareness of AL products and services
• Be product champion in a product launch campaign or in product campaigns and drives.
• Be local trainer for a specific product and application: Define and delivery local training programs for the AL employees, channels and customers.
• Use the One CRM tool and other tools in a consistent and qualitative way, to support the sales process and take decisions
• Responsible to ensure business principles and governance are adhered to within area of responsibility

Technical Knowledge

• Competent in various heat transfer & fluid handling processes and products.
• Knowledge of Commercial /incoterms Good listening skills - active listening skills to comprehend customers' technical requirements.
• Strong customer service orientation and sense of urgency
• You demonstrate Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are your strengths.
• You have an ability to express ideas clearly both in written and verbal formats
• Strong attention to detail and follow-up skillset
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Email systems, specifically strong excel skills
• Team work and team player
• Digital communication - Have a social media active profile and use digital channels to increase network and secure presence.

Qualification & Experience

Mechanical or Chemical Engineering graduate / Diploma holder as Product & Application Engineer having robust experience of handling quotations and customer communication. Minimum 3~5 Years of experience in any similar Food, Pharma and Water Industries.
