Job summary

Exide Industries is seeking a proactive Procurement leader in Kolkata to develop and execute domestic sourcing strategies. You will manage materials procurement across raw, packaging, engineering, MRO and indirect purchases, supporting negotiations and contracts.

The role focuses on cost reduction, supplier diversification, and ensuring timely material availability to keep plant operations uninterrupted. You will mentor the domestic procurement team and ensure policy compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering.
• MBA in Supply Chain/Operations preferred.
• Experience in domestic procurement for manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute domestic sourcing and procurement strategies.
• Manage procurement of raw materials, packaging materials, engineering items, MRO, and indirect purchases.
• Support commercial negotiations, annual contracts, and supplier selection.
• Drive cost reduction, value engineering, and working capital improvement initiatives.
• Develop alternate suppliers and strengthen supplier performance through regular reviews.
• Ensure timely availability of materials to support uninterrupted plant operations.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with Production, Planning, Quality, Finance, and Logistics.
• Mitigate supply chain risks through contingency planning and supplier diversification.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, statutory requirements, and ethical sourcing practices.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the domestic procurement team to achieve departmental objectives.
