Job summary

Elixa Technologies in Pune, India is seeking a seasoned Procurement professional to lead end-to-end R&D sourcing for chemicals, materials, sensors, and lab consumables. You will manage batch-based, high-variance requirements and build a reliable vendor ecosystem to ensure timely delivery.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end procurement of chemicals, raw materials, reagents, sensors, electronic components, and lab consumables.
• Manage batch-based, small-volume and high-variability R&D requirements.
• Understand material specifications, grades, shelf life, handling requirements, and sourcing landscape.
• Ensure timely availability through effective lead-time management, alternate sourcing, and safety stock planning.
• Lead negotiations on pricing, payment terms, delivery, and quality commitments.
• Build and manage a reliable vendor ecosystem.
• Drive competitive sourcing through RFQs, reverse auctions, and multi-vendor comparisons.
• Evaluate TCO, vendor risk, and commercial trade-offs.
• Develop alternate and backup suppliers.
• Build procurement processes covering requisition, sourcing, ordering, approvals, and delivery tracking.
• Develop SOPs and procurement policies.
• Establish governance around vendor selection, spend thresholds, and documentation while maintaining R&D agility.
• Drive adoption of AI and digital tools across procurement.
• Identify opportunities for spend analytics, supplier intelligence, demand sensing, lead-time prediction, automated PO workflows, and contract management.
• Build data-led procurement processes and reduce manual intervention.
• Build procurement dashboards covering spend, lead time, vendor performance, and procurement cycle time.
• Provide leadership with insights on procurement risks, savings opportunities, and performance.
• Drive continuous improvement through data.
