Job summary

Unison International is seeking an experienced Procurement Head to lead end-to-end sourcing for a leading furniture manufacturer. You will drive strategic sourcing, vendor development, and cost optimization to ensure uninterrupted material availability for production.

Coordinate with production, design, projects, and finance; implement ERP-based controls and MIS reporting on purchases, supplier performance, and savings. Strong leadership and stakeholder management are essential.

Qualifications

• 8-12+ years of procurement experience in furniture manufacturing or related sectors.
• Strong expertise in strategic sourcing, vendor development, contract negotiations, and cost management.
• Experience handling multiple raw material categories and supplier networks.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute procurement strategies for raw materials, hardware, consumables, and specialised furniture components.
• Negotiate pricing, credit terms, delivery schedules, and long-term supply contracts.
• Coordinate closely with Production, Stores, Design, Projects, QC, and Finance teams for procurement planning and material availability.
• Drive cost‑saving initiatives through strategic sourcing, alternate vendor development, bulk procurement, and value engineering.
• Monitor inventory levels, reduce excess stock, and prevent material shortages.
• Ensure compliance with procurement processes, PO controls, documentation, and ERP systems.
• Generate MIS reports on purchases, vendor performance, cost savings, inventory status, and procurement forecasts.

The role is responsible for strategic sourcing, vendor development, procurement planning, cost optimisation, inventory control, and ensuring uninterrupted material availability for factory operations and projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute procurement strategies for raw materials, hardware, consumables, and specialised furniture components.
• Manage sourcing of wood, plywood, veneer, laminates, marble, glass, upholstery, leather, fabrics, Corian, hardware, metal components, paints, chemicals, and packaging materials.
• Lead vendor identification, evaluation, development, and performance management.
• Negotiate pricing, credit terms, delivery schedules, and long-term supply contracts.
• Coordinate closely with Production, Stores, Design, Projects, QC, and Finance teams for procurement planning and material availability.
• Drive cost‑saving initiatives through strategic sourcing, alternate vendor development, bulk procurement, and value engineering.

Candidate Profile

• Graduate in Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, Business Administration, or related discipline.
• 8-12+ years of procurement experience in furniture manufacturing, interior fit-outs, woodworking, modular furniture, hospitality projects, or related manufacturing sectors.
• Strong expertise in strategic sourcing, vendor development, contract negotiations, and cost management.
• Experience handling multiple raw material categories and supplier networks.
