Role & responsibilities
Procurement & Sourcing
- Analyse production requirements and material needs, including electrical components (relays, contactors, meters, switchgears, etc.).
- Research and evaluate potential suppliers based on price, quality, reliability, and delivery capabilities.
- Issue Request for Quotations (RFQs) and compare technical and commercial offers.
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, payment terms, and contract conditions with vendors.
Purchase Order & Documentation
- Raise and manage Purchase Orders (POs) in ERP systems in line with business rules and approvals.
- Track POs, follow up on delivery schedules, and expedite orders as necessary.
- Ensure purchase documentation (quotations, agreements, delivery challans, invoices) is accurate and complete.
- Maintain records of vendor contracts, price lists, delivery details, and quality certificates.
Vendor & Quality Management
- Build and maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure continuous supply.
- Coordinate incoming material inspections with quality/production teams to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Handle supplier non-conformance issues (returns, replacements, corrective actions).
Internal Coordination
- Work closely with engineering, production, inventory, and stores to ensure correct material receipt and issue as per Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Provide purchasing input for costing, project planning, and material availability forecasting.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Prepare periodic reports on purchasing activities, cost savings, delivery performance, and vendor performance.
Identify opportunities to reduce lead times, improve supplier base, and optimize procurement processes.
Preferred candidate profile
- Bachelors degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering (Electrical / Electronics preferred) or related field.
- 2 - 6 + years of procurement or purchasing experience in manufacturing, preferably electrical or control panel industry.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) and ERP/MRP systems.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail and good organizational skills.
Preferred
- Experience with ERP purchasing modules.
- Knowledge of electrical component specifications and industry standards (IEC/IS).
- Ability to read technical drawings/BOMs (advantageous).
- Preferably in APFC panel / LT panel / electrical manufacturing industry

Educational Qualification
- Diploma / BE / B. Tech in Electrical / Electronics
- OR Graduate with relevant purchase experience
