Job summary

Ratnamani Metals & Tubes is seeking an Engineer/Senior Engineer to join the Purchase department at our Corporate Office in Ahmedabad (Vastrapur). The role focuses on technical sourcing, vendor management, and procurement excellence across capital equipment and services.

The incumbent will evaluate bids, build supplier partnerships, optimise costs, and align procurement with project timelines. Experience in contracts, TCO, and SCADA-related tooling will be advantageous.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics or Communication engineering.
• 3–5 years of relevant procurement experience.
• Experience in vendor evaluation and supplier audits.
• Knowledge of contract terms and cost optimization.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate vendor technical bids for conformity to project specifications.
• Source qualified manufacturers for critical plant electrical infrastructure.
• Build long-term partnerships with global and local engineering suppliers.
• Conduct regular supplier audits to evaluate performance and capacity.
• Drive total cost of ownership (TCO) reductions across all purchase categories.
• Negotiate commercial terms, including payment milestones, warranties, and liquidated damages.
• Prepare detailed price comparisons and cost-breakdown models for management approval.
• Manage contract formulation to mitigate financial and legal risks.
• Align procurement schedules with project engineering and commissioning timelines.
• Expedite manufacturing progress through routine factory visits and status updates.
• Coordinate logistics and customs clearance for imported capital equipment.
• Oversee cash flow requirements related to supplier advance and milestone payments.
