Arch Capital Group Ltd. (Arch) is a leading global insurer with operations in more than a dozen countries. We write insurance, reinsurance and mortgage insurance on a worldwide basis, and our customers value us as an innovative partner and dependable risk manager with decades of fresh ideas and solid results. Part of the S&P 500, Arch has the size and capital position to remain a market-leading specialty insurer

About Arch Global Services India:

Arch Global Services India, established in 2025, is the newest part of Arch’s Global Service Organization. With offices in Hyderabad, Trivandrum and Pune, Arch Global Services India is strategically positioned to provide support to Arch Insurance, Reinsurance and Mortgage divisions globally. At Arch Global Services India, we collaborate with teams across the globe to develop and implement solutions that deliver exceptional results for our clients worldwide.

THE POSITION:

The Process Improvement Coach is responsible for embedding structured improvement methodologies across Arch GSI's operational initiatives — ensuring that projects are planned rigorously, executed consistently, and deliver measurable outcomes that matter to the business. Reporting directly to the Service Delivery Head, GSI, this role sits within the Process Excellence function and operates across multiple lines of business, giving the right candidate genuine visibility into how improvement work is governed at an organizational level. The Process Improvement Coach is not a background support function this individual is an active participant in project execution, working alongside project leads, business teams, and leadership to raise the standard of how improvement work is done across GSI. For a mid-level professional looking to build a serious career in Process Excellence and Lean Six Sigma, this role offers structured exposure, senior leadership access, and a direct pathway to Master Black Belt and beyond.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
  • Review project charters, scoping documents, and milestone plans to ensure alignment with DMAIC principles before execution begins
  • Monitor active improvement projects across key phases — Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control — flagging risks and recommending corrective actions to project leads
  • Standardize project templates, tollgate criteria, and governance processes to create consistency across all improvement initiatives
Mentoring & Capability Building:
  • Coach Green Belt candidates and project team members through statistical analysis, root cause investigation, and lean problem-solving techniques
  • Facilitate structured workshops including value stream mapping, rapid improvement events, and root cause analysis sessions with operational teams
  • Build internal capability by transferring methodology knowledge to project leads— reducing dependency on external expertise over time
Certification Support:
  • Guide employees pursuing Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and Black Belt certifications through their project submissions, tollgate reviews, and documentation requirements
  • Review and provide structured feedback on certification project work to improve completion rates and submission quality
  • Maintain a tracker of active certification candidates and project progress to provide leadership with accurate pipeline visibility
Benefits Realization & Sustainability:
  • Validate that improvement projects are tracking toward committed financial and operational targets throughout the project lifecycle
  • Ensure post-implementation controls are defined, documented, and monitored — preventing regression after project closure
  • Prepare concise benefits reporting for the Service Delivery Head and senior stakeholders, translating project data into clear business outcome language
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
MANDATORY — Must Have on Day 1
  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred, Six Sigma Green Belt will be considered.
  • 5–8 years of hands‑on experience in process improvement, quality management, or operational excellence roles — in a professional service, GCC, or shared services environment
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis tools — Minitab, Excel-based analysis, or equivalent — with the ability to validate data, run basic hypothesis tests, and interpret outputs independently
  • Demonstrated hands‑on experience applying the DMAIC framework across at least one end‑to‑end project
  • Practical knowledge of process mapping tools and techniques — SIPOC, Value Stream Mapping, Fishbone / Ishikawa, and process flow diagrams
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills — able to present data‑driven findings clearly to both operational teams and senior leadership
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent project reviews without compromising quality or timelines
PREFERRED — Can Be Developed or is a Bonus:
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification (where not already held)
  • Exposure to structured change management frameworks — PROSCI, ADKAR, or Kotter — and how they apply in an operational improvement context
  • Familiarity with how AI and automation intersect with process improvement — particularly how technology‑enabled change affects methodology application
  • Insurance or financial services domain knowledge
  • Prior experience working within a GCC, BPO, or shared services environment
  • Basic project management tool experience — MS Project, Jira, Azure DevOps, or equivalent
WHAT THIS ROLE IS NOT:
  • This is not a training or L&D role — the role is embedded in active project delivery, not designing or delivering classroom programmes
  • This is not a consultancy engagement — this is a permanent, full‑time position with ongoing accountability for methodology governance across GSI's improvement portfolio
  • This is not a data analyst role — while statistical competence is required, the primary responsibility is coaching people and governing projects, not producing analysis outputs independently
  • This is not a standalone individual contributor role — the role works within a governed programme structure, alongside project leads, operational teams, and senior leadership, and is accountable to that structure
  • This is not a role for someone who wants to observe improvement work from a distance — active participation in reviews, workshops, and coaching conversations is the core of this position
