Job summary

Zydus Lifesciences in Ankleshwar invites experienced chemical engineers to join the Process Engineering department. The role focuses on process flow diagrams, mass balances, equipment selection, and scaling from lab to production while optimizing yield and reducing cycle times.

You will participate in validation batches, design of heat exchangers, reactors, and filtration systems, and drive energy-saving initiatives.

Qualifications

• B.E. in Chemical Engineering is required.
• 3–7 years of experience in process engineering roles, pharma preferred.
• Experience with process design, scale-up and tech transfer.

Responsibilities

• Prepare process flow diagrams and mass balances for products.
• Scale up from lab to commercial production.
• Execute validation batches for new and existing molecules.

Qualification - B.E (Chemical)

• · Preparation of process flow diagram forproducts.
• · Prepare mass balance for new & existingproduct. Selection of process equipment’s and its capacity rating for differentprocesses.
• · Critical parameters study of new products andexisting products.
• · Ensuring the feasibility of the processinitially at the lab scale, Scaling up the Product & transfer the processfrom Lab scale to commercial scale.
• · Execution of validation batches of new molecule& existing molecule. Part of basic and detail engineering team for newproject (process related). Designing of process equipment. (Heat Exchanger, Condenser,Reactor, Filters, scrubber, distillation column etc.).
• · Batch Time Cycle Reductions & Capacityenhancement of the product. Capacity calculation for new facility. (OptimizingEquipment for given production capacity for new facility.).
• · Variable cost calculation of different productsfor total product cost calculation. Route cause Analysis & Troubleshootings for OOS, OOT & incident.
• · MOC testing experiment and determination ofequipment life cycle for different process. Initiate yield improvement activityby doing the gap analysis between achieved yield v/s theoretical yield; &working for minimization in area of losses & maximization in yields.
• · Initiate energy saving projects by evaluatingprocess requirements & optimizing the energy usages. Involve in Solventsaving projects by evaluating process for area of losses & minimizing thelosses & optimizing the recovery process.
• · Involve in new technology adoption by evaluatingthe gap between the new system & the existing system; proposal generationfor new technology.
• · Work on effluent reduction by evaluating allprocess by mass balance of the reactants to find the composition of effluent;thus segregating them for proper treatment & working for less effluent fromthe source with R&D team.
• · Participate in the troubleshooting of differenton-going problems of production.
