Job summary

Roots Group of Companies in Tamil Nadu is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer to develop scalable processes for electro-mechanical enclosures, wiring, potting, and coatings, and to establish routings, flows, and SOPs for mass production.

You will lead NPI transitions, perform DFx reviews of BOMs and drawings early in design, and design tooling and fixtures to optimize takt time while ensuring IPC-A-610, ESD, and ISO quality standards.

Qualifications

• Expertise in wire harness routing, soldering, potting, and testing.
• Ability to evaluate CAD models and layouts for mass fabrication.
• Knowledge of EOL testers, robotic soldering, and root-cause analysis methods.
• Proficiency in writing SOPs and defining takt times.
• Experience with CAD tools and SAP.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable, repeatable manufacturing processes for enclosures, wiring, potting, and conformal coating; develop routings, flows, and SOPs.
• Lead the transition of products from prototyping to full-scale mass production (NPI).
• Review BOMs, drawings, and schematics early to prevent bottlenecks and reduce costs (DFM/DFA).
• Specify, design, and procure jigs, fixtures, and workstation layouts to optimize ergonomics and takt time.
• Use 8D/Ishikawa/Six Sigma methods to identify defects, track FPY, and implement Poka-Yoke.
• Ensure builds meet IPC-A-610, ESD, and ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 requirements.
