Job summary

Schaeffler India Pvt. Ltd. is seeking an experienced Process Engineer to own and optimize welding and assembly processes. You will drive KPIs, coordinate cross-functional teams, and implement improvements to ensure on-time project delivery.

The role requires deep knowledge of manufacturing processes, automotive quality standards, and strong problem-solving skills to maintain high equipment availability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in engineering; required
• Experience with Automotive Quality standards
• 8–10 years of experience in Resistance welding, Laser welding and assembly processes

Responsibilities

• Ensure targeted process KPIs for manufacturing processes and mentor the team.
• Provide detailed, realistic plans per project schedule and timely delivery of deliverables.
• Report project status on timing, quality and risk to Group Leader.
• Coordinate multiple project activities across teams to ensure on-time completion.
• Define process standards and ensure effective deployment across the area.
• Own processes defined by the Process Engineering Team Leader (e.g., resistance welding, laser welding).
• Troubleshoot process and equipment issues and document supplier failures.
• Install production equipment and prepare validation/release procedures.

Your Key Responsibilities

• The Process Engineer ensures the targeted process KPIs for his/her manufacturing processes. He/She is reaching the required technical availability and process quality on the equipment under his/her responsibility and supporting his/her department as a mentor. He/She is the local interface to the equipment supplier and escalation level for the shop floor for his / her process.
• Ensure a detailed and realistic plan is provided according to the project schedule and in-time delivery of committed deliverables.
• Report the project status on timing, quality and risk to Group Leader.
• Schedule, manage, and communicate multiple project activities between multiple project team members to assure on time completion.
• Responsible of one /more process steps from his/her area of responsibility
• Process owner of the processes defined by the Process Engineering Team Leader e.g. pressfit, dispensing, Resistance Welding, Laser welding etc.
• Responsible for the technical troubleshooting regarding his/her processes and equipment.
• In case of supplier issue the failures has to be documented and reported
• Responsible for the installation of the production equipment and preparation of validation/release procedures.
• Must be able to define the process standards and effective deployment of the same.
• Shall perform statistical analysis and ensure that the process is under control.
• Co-ordinate with global experts for process improvement.Responsible of one /more process steps from his/her area of responsibility

• Responsible for the technical troubleshooting regarding his/her processes and equipment.

• Must be able to define the process standards and effective deployment of the same.
• Shall perform statistical analysis and ensure that the process is under control.
• Co-ordinate with global experts for process improvement.
• Respond to the production alarm systems, which is activated, if the realization of the production plan or the product quality is in danger
• Responsible of reaching the targeted KPIs in his/her processes (ex: scrap rate, "zero ppm" etc.)
• Drive new process technology and continuous improvement. Ensure projects are completed on time.
• Provide technical support, capability improvement, standardized work, immediate problem solving, and process support for multiple processes.
• Responsible for the initiation, planning, implementation & control of the activity in his / her area of responsibility
• Responsible for implementing the best preventive and corrective measures for ensuring the best quality, highest equipment availability and the minimum costs.Provide year over year Equipment / Process performance improvement (eg. cycle time reduction, OEE improvement)
• Develop solution to make Equipment / Process more reliable using local material and with lower cost.
• Good English knowledge (writing, reading, and speaking)
• Practical understanding of modern production and quality management tools, like lean manufacturing, six sigma and TPM
• Process specific knowledge (technology, process, material, supplier, etc) of his/her process ownership

Your Qualification

• Bachelor degree in engineering (industrial, mechanical, electrical) or other related field or equivalent education and experience required
• Experience with Automotive Quality standards
• 8 to 10 Years of experience in Restance welding, Laser welding and assembly processes
