Gain is seeking a Senior Data Lead for the Lenders data domain to own end-to-end the core building blocks of private credit and fixed income. You’ll shape the data model, coordinate with Product and Engineering, and drive data quality as the team scales.
Based in Bangalore with a flexible hybrid model, you’ll hire and mentor Analysts as the vertical grows, partnering across the organization to align data strategy with business priorities.
Gain is on a mission to provide global visibility into private markets. Our industry-leading platform combines advanced AI technology with local-for-local research, delivering the highest quality intelligence on the companies and investors that matter most.
We serve 100% of MBB/Big Four advisories, clients representing over $1 trillion of private capital and more than 70% of the top-20 global M&A houses. Trusted by names like Blackstone, McKinsey and Goldman Sachs, we lead the market in client satisfaction with an NPS of 80+.
With offices in New York, Amsterdam, London, Frankfurt, Warsaw and Bangalore, we are one of Europe’s fastest-growing companies, recognized in the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 EMEA 2024 and the FT1000: Europe’s Fastest Growing Companies.
Private credit and fixed income sit at the center of how capital moves through private markets and today there’s no single source of truth connecting lenders, credit and the companies they finance. Gain is building that layer.
The Lenders Team, part of Gain’s Private Equity Intelligence (PEI) group, gives Gain users a structured view into the global credit and debt markets, including:
Comprehensive lender profiles, covering credit and debt details with breakdowns by sector, region and type
Credit data linked to companies, deals and investors
A growing roadmap of coverage across BDCs, broadly syndicated loans, corporate bonds, CLOs and credit ratings
Own the Lenders data domain end-to-end across BDC, BSL, corporate bonds, CLO and MML, the core building blocks of private credit and fixed income.
Act as the subject matter expert on credit and fixed income data (capital structure, pricing mechanics, instrument and holder taxonomy) for the rest of the org.
Shape and prioritize the Lenders product roadmap, balancing new coverage against the depth and quality of what’s already live.
Work with vendors to understand their data, translate it into Gain’s data model, and take end-to-end ownership of linking it to Gain’s company, deal and investor assets.
Resolve open data modeling questions end-to-end rather than just flagging them.
Lead process optimization for the team, using AI and automation to keep data workflows and trackers running cleanly as data volume scales.
Set priorities, sequence workstreams and keep delivery on pace against business priorities across the vertical.
Hire, coach and manage Analysts and Senior Analysts as the team grows and set the processes and quality bar they work to.
Partner cross-functionally with Product and Engineering, and represent the Lenders vertical in broader leadership conversations.
6+ years of relevant experience in private credit, lending or fixed income data, gained in a research, data management or investment operations role.
Demonstrated hands-on experience with lender, credit or debt data such as BDCs, broadly syndicated loans, CLOs or corporate bonds.
Strong project management skills: comfortable setting priorities, managing dependencies across vendors and engineering, and driving structured work in an ambiguous, still-being-built environment.
Strong people management skills: proven experience managing or building a team, beyond informal mentoring.
Comfortable working in structured data environments (internal data systems, spreadsheets and vendor feeds) with high attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, comfortable conveying structured decisions and feedback to both your team and leadership.
Proactive, self-driven and thrives in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment.
Ownership of a foundational, high-visibility vertical, with direct exposure to how leadership thinks about Gain’s private credit and fixed income offering.
A ground-floor seat in defining how credit and lending data gets modeled and scaled at Gain, not just executing against an existing playbook.
A clear path from owning the data to building and running the team behind it.
Regular collaboration with Product, Engineering and senior leadership on a vertical that’s still being actively shaped.
Competitive compensation with a performance and OKR-linked annual bonus.
A flexible, hybrid working model based out of our Bangalore office.
