Job summary

Gain is seeking a DMG Associate to lead a research team and own updates for multiple global regions within Private Equity Intelligence. You will ensure high data quality across financial, market, and business research, while driving efficiency and continuous improvement.

You will recruit, train and motivate analysts, foster a culture of learning, and partner with Group Technology to automate workflows where possible, reporting to the DMG Team Lead.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a shared services/competence centre for Strategy Consulting, Global IBD, Big 4 or research centre based in India.
• Experience and affinity with the PE & VC market is a plus.
• Strong interest in financial/professional services industry.
• Successfully managed a team of ~10 or more FTEs.
• Intrigued by detailed company analysis and skill development.
• Bias to action – you get a lot done with minimum deliverables.
• A positive, decisive and empathic management style.

Responsibilities

• Research and Knowledge Management: deliver on updates targets for your regions, ensuring the highest quality standards for financial, market, and business research.
• Quality Guardianship: regularly review updates executed by your team, identify quality issues, and address them (e.g., via training).
• Recruitment: actively support the hiring of research analysts to meet the group’s headcount and content targets.
• Team Management: train, develop and motivate team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and personal and professional growth.
• Strategic Initiatives: continuously identify and own improvement opportunities and execute data improvement initiatives in the DMG.
• Group Technology: identify and drive technical initiatives to automate workflow where possible.

Data Management Group (DMG)

DMG is a highly strategic pillar of Gain’s research vertical (Private Equity Intelligence), responsible for maintaining and enhancing the quality and accuracy of our research content by regularly updating outdated company profiles and other data sets. Our ambition is to scale this team to 150+ FTEs in ~3 years.

Role: DMG Associate

As a DMG Associate you will manage and scale a best‑in‑class research team, own the updates process for multiple global regions, and report to the DMG Team Lead.
