Job summary

Woodside Global Solutions in Bengaluru seeks a Privacy Adviser to help the business meet global privacy obligations across all activities and jurisdictions. You will provide advisory support on privacy program implementation and data handling practices, and coach privacy focal points to strengthen controls.

As part of this vision, the Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) team plays a critical role in strengthening governance, risk management, assurance, regulatory compliance, and information and privacy protection across Woodside's global operations. About the role

The Privacy Adviser supports the business to comply with global privacy obligations. The position provides advisory services to all Groups on their implementation of Woodside’s Privacy program requirements across all business activities and jurisdictions in which Woodside operates.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Support the development, implementation and governance of a pan-Woodside privacy program.
• Provide privacy-related advice regarding the implementation of new applications and procedures related to the management of personal information, including the privacy impact assessment process.
• Coach Privacy Focal Points across the organisation to drive effective management of privacy obligations and controls across Woodside’s business activities.
• Staying up-to-date with regulatory changes and industry trends
• Support the investigation and resolution of privacy incidents and non-compliance events, including associated reporting.
• Support resolution of privacy-related queries and complaints, including those relating to third-party contractors. Monitor, communicate and embed changes in privacy laws across the organisation.
• Assessing privacy-related risks arising from existing products and services
• Monitoring the effectiveness of privacy-related risk mitigation and compliance measures
• Accountable for enabling effective risk (strategic, material and emerging) management and reporting for International Operations.
• Champion the development and embedding of a strong privacy culture across the organisation.

Skills & Experience:

• Bachelor/Master's degree in relevant field (e.g. law, technology, data science)
• 3-5 years + within Privacy, Data and AI Governance
• Understanding of relevant laws and regulations such as DPDPA, GDPR, AU Privacy Act
• Exemplary written and verbal communication and ability to present to internal stakeholders.
• Ability to work with full autonomy in managing internal and external stakeholders, with authority to directly solve issues and an instinct to know when escalation is appropriate.
• Understands high-performing team dynamics and provides feedback to enhance team effectiveness and GRC processes
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into practical business solutions
