Join a key engineering role focused on the design and execution of High Voltage GIS (Gas Insulated Switchgear) substations. You will work closely with project managers, lead engineers, tendering teams, customers, suppliers, and cross-functional engineering teams to deliver high-quality primary engineering solutions. This role offers opportunities to contribute to complex substation projects, drive design optimization, support continuous improvement initiatives, and mentor emerging engineers.
How You'll Make an Impact
- Lead and execute primary engineering activities for GIS projects from technical handover through project completion.
- Interpret customer specifications, compliance requirements, and project technical standards to develop accurate engineering deliverables.
- Prepare electrical and gas single line diagrams (SLDs), layout plans, sectional drawings, 3D GIS models, detailed design documentation, and guaranteed technical particulars.
- Ensure timely delivery of project milestones including base design, BOM preparation, detailed design, and as-built documentation.
- Generate and release BOMs in SAP, support procurement activities, and prepare technical documentation for project-specific equipment.
- Participate in customer meetings, technical clarifications, design reviews, and project review discussions to achieve design freeze and successful project execution.
- Drive Design-to-Value (DtV) initiatives by identifying cost, lead-time, and margin improvement opportunities through optimized technical solutions.
- Coordinate with secondary engineering and steel engineering teams to ensure seamless project handovers and execution.
- Support troubleshooting for factory and site issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Identify project risks and opportunities while maintaining a strong focus on quality, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
- Share technical expertise through training, knowledge-sharing sessions, and mentoring of junior engineers.
- Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
