Job summary

Hitachi Energy seeks an electrical engineering specialist to deliver complete substation design and tender engineering assignments. You will prepare layouts, grounding, and lightning designs, plus cable routings and BOMs for AIS/GIS projects, ensuring quality and regulatory compliance.

You will collaborate with Engineering Managers, Tendering, and Project teams across countries, contributing technically and commercially to bids and project execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Engineering in Electrical; 2–6 years' experience.
• 2–3 years in substation tendering and project engineering (technical & commercial).
• Proficiency in CAD tools: BIM Tools, BIM 360, Navisworks, MicroStation/AutoCAD, Revit, 3D competence.
• Knowledge of IEC, IEEE and related international standards.
• Independent contributor with ability to challenge solutions.
• Dynamic and proactive; willing to grow in the organization.
• Team player with cross-country collaboration and strong ownership.
• Strong written and spoken English communication.

Responsibilities

• Prepare substation layouts and section drawings, grounding and lightning system designs.
• Create drawings, cable routings and cable tray routings.
• Vetting vendor offers; RFQs; hours estimation; site visits.
• Technical risk assessment and opportunity evaluation; plan and support quality systems.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and Hitachi Energy standards.

Job description

Engineering authority for projects/tenders with low to medium complexity. Execution of complete engineering assignments on small, medium or large projects/tender cost effectively and in accordance with contract specifications and quality standards. Based on technical specification from end customers and inputs from OU Engineering team, prepare Substation layouts and section drawings, Grounding system drawings, Lightning system design, drawings, Cable routings, Bill of materials, RFQs, vetting of vendor offers, hours estimation, visit to project sites, technical risk assessment and opportunity evaluation, technical risk assessment and opportunity evaluation etc. Coordinate with Engineering Manager, Engineering Leads, Tendering team, Project managers, SCM, Secondary and civil / steel design functions, consultants, end customers etc. and provide required support in each Project / Tender.

Primary Engineering Deliverables. Experience in handling complete engineering assignments for AIS & GIS projects, Exposure to International experience & Standards IEC, IEEE & AS

Technical risk and opportunity assessment and validation Innovative ideas to reduce Engineering effort.

Plan, implement, review and continuously improvise quality system & follow Opex initiatives.

You will be responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your Background:

Bachelors Engineering in Electrical, have 2-6 years' experience.

Should have minimum 2-3 years exp in Knowledge in substation tendering and project engineering activities (technical & commercial).

Proficiency in required CAD design tools (BIM Tools, BIM 360, Navisworks, MicroStation / AutoCAD, AutoCAD REVIT, 3D competence).

Knowledge of relevant international standards ex. IEEE, IEC,etc.

Individual contributor using in-depth knowledge in a specific area to execute complex or specialized projects / challenges often thinking independently to challenge traditional solutions.

Dynamic and Proactive, willing to grow in the organization.

Team Player, ready to play the role across the different countries. High level of ownership.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
