Role Description

The Press Operator – Open Die Forging role is a full-time, on-site position based in Gujarat, India. The Press Operator is responsible for operating open die forging presses, handling heavy steel workpieces, and following forging schedules and instructions to produce components to required specifications. Daily activities include setting up and adjusting machines, monitoring press parameters, coordinating with crane and furnace operators, and maintaining a clean and safe work area. The role involves inspecting forged parts, recording production data, and working closely with quality and maintenance teams to address process or equipment issues. The Press Operator is expected to follow all safety procedures, use appropriate personal protective equipment, and support continuous improvement in forging operations.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Machine Operation skills, including experience with forging presses or similar heavy industrial equipment.
• Candidates should possess Quality Control skills, including basic measurement, visual inspection, and understanding of tolerances and specifications.
• Candidates should possess Troubleshooting skills to identify, report, and help resolve issues related to machine performance, process deviations, or product defects.
• Candidates should possess Printing and Pre-press skills where applicable, such as reading and interpreting production drawings, job cards, and process documents.
• Relevant technical qualification (e.g., ITI, diploma in mechanical or metallurgical field) is preferred.
• Experience in open die forging, heavy forging, or steel manufacturing is an advantage.
• Ability to work in a shift-based environment, follow safety standards, and handle physically demanding tasks.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented industrial setting.
