Siemens Mobility in Chennai seeks a Senior Pre-Sales Engineer with 3+ years in BMS to lead pre-sales for building automation. You will review tender documents, identify HVAC equipment and field devices, and prepare data point schedules and BOMs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in BMS field.
• Associate degree in Electrical, Electronics or Mechanical.
• Strong reading, writing, communication and analytical abilities.
• Familiarity with single-line diagrams and floor plans.
• Knowledge of Modbus, M-Bus, BACnet, KNX and related BMS protocols.
• Proficiency in MS Office; Bluebeam and Ground Plan; Revit/BIM is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct preliminary and detailed pre-sales engineering to qualify, identify, and quantify Building Automation Tender Documents.
• Examine Tender Documents to identify HVAC equipment and Field devices.
• Review the sequence of operations and identify gaps in the IO summary.
• Generate RFI, Equipment Summary, Data points schedule, Bill of Materials and related sizing/selection tasks.
• Produce a Compliance statement for tender submissions.
• Identify and mitigate risks while estimating and submitting tenders.
• Generate accurate project estimates and collate pricing data.
• Uphold high standards through thorough quality checks on all deliverables.

Pre-Sales Engineer Role

We are looking for a professional with a minimum of 3 years of experience in BMS (Building Management System) field. The candidate must have an associate degree in Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical.

The role of a senior Pre-Sales Engineer involves the following responsibilities:

• Conducting both preliminary and detailed pre-sales engineering to qualify, identify, and quantify Building Automation Tender Documents.
• Examining Tender Documents to identify HVAC equipment and Field devices.
• Reviewing the sequence of operations and identifying any gaps in the specification related to the IO summary.
• Generating RFI, Equipment Summary, Data points schedule, Bill of material. This includes sub-tasks like sizing/Selection of sensors, Motorized control valves & dampers Actuators, Meters, Controllers, Interfaces & License.
• Producing a Compliance statement.
• Proactively identifying and mitigating risks while capitalizing on opportunities during the estimation and submission phases.
• Generating accurate project estimates and meticulously collating pricing data
• Upholding high standards through thorough quality checks on all deliverables

The candidate should possess the following skills and knowledge:

• Good knowledge about HVAC, Electrical, Hydraulics, Fire & Vertical Transport systems.
• Excellent skills in reading, oral and writing communication, problem-solving, and analytical abilities.
• Understanding of Basic Instrumentation & Control loops.
• Familiarity with Single line diagrams and floor plans
• Knowledge of open protocols like Modbus, M-Bus, BACnet, KNX, and associated protocols related to BMS system.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Outlook), Bluebeam & Ground plan. Knowledge of Revit and BIM will be considered as added advantages.
• Additional system knowledge like IT networking, Metering, Cyber Security & Associated building controls, Industry codes, and Compliance practices will be an added advantage.
• Experience in Data Centers will be considered as an added advantage.
