Job summary

Metalex Steel Strips in Bengaluru seeks a Production Planning professional to manage daily to monthly schedules for Slitting, CTL, Polishing and Lamination lines, aligning with customer commitments and machine capacity.

You will coordinate with Sales, Dispatch, Stores and Purchase to ensure timely delivery, release work orders, monitor WIP, and drive productivity while maintaining safety and ISO standards. Fresher to 5 years in steel processing are welcome.

Qualifications

• BE / Diploma in Mechanical, Production, Industrial Engineering OR MBA Operations.
• Experience: Fresher to 5 Years (Steel Processing Industry Preferred).
• Knowledge of Steel Coil Processing Operations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production planning for Slitting, CTL, Polishing and Lamination lines.
• Plan production schedules based on customer delivery commitments and machine capacity.
• Coordinate with Sales and Dispatch teams for order priorities and delivery schedules.
• Verify raw material availability such as SS coils, CR coils, HR coils, aluminum coils, and consumables before production release.
• Release production work orders, process plans, and route cards to the shop floor.
• Monitor WIP and ensure adherence to planned schedules.
• Coordinate with Stores and Purchase for material inward and procurement follow-up.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production planning for Slitting, Cut-to-Length (CTL), Polishing, and Lamination lines.
• Plan production schedules based on customer delivery commitments and machine capacity.
• Coordinate with Sales and Dispatch teams for order priorities and delivery schedules.
• Verify raw material availability such as SS coils, CR coils, HR coils, aluminum coils, and consumables before production release.
• Prepare machine-wise loading plans for slitting lines, CTL machines, polishing machines, and lamination lines.
• Monitor production progress and ensure adherence to planned schedules.
• Optimize coil utilization and minimize process scrap during slitting and sheet cutting operations.
• Prepare slit size planning to achieve maximum material utilization and minimum wastage.
• Coordinate with Stores and Purchase departments for material inward, stock availability, and procurement follow-up.
• Release production work orders, process plans, and route cards to the shop floor.
• Monitor WIP (Work in Progress) at each stage of processing.
• Ensure proper sequencing of jobs to reduce machine setup time and increase productivity.
• Coordinate with Quality department to ensure production as per customer specifications and standards.
• Track pending orders and update customers/sales team regarding delivery status.
• Maintain ERP/SAP entries for production planning, material movement, and dispatch tracking.
• Plan polishing operations based on finish requirements such as No.4, Hairline, Mirror, Scotch Brite, etc.
• Ensure proper planning of protective film lamination as per customer requirement and surface finish standards.
• Monitor production efficiency, machine utilization, rejection, and downtime reports.
• Coordinate with maintenance team for machine availability and preventive maintenance schedules.
• Prepare daily production MIS reports, dispatch reports, stock reports, and order status reports.
• Ensure FIFO implementation for coil and sheet inventory management.
• Plan dispatch activities and coordinate packing as per customer packing standards.
• Handle urgent customer requirements and reschedule production priorities when necessary.
• Support continuous improvement activities for productivity enhancement and process optimization.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures, ISO documentation, and company operational standards.
