The ePlane Company seeks an experienced Technical Authoring professional to create and maintain manuals, service bulletins, and installation guides for powertrain and propulsion systems. You will collaborate with cross-disciplinary engineers to collect data and ensure precise documentation for aerospace certification.
You will leverage Jira for task tracking, comply with aviation standards, and contribute to test plans and validation dossiers.
Create, edit, and maintain user manuals, Component Maintenance Manuals (CMM), service bulletins, installation guides, and assembly/test procedures for powertrain, propulsion, and transmission systems.
Work closely with mechanical, electrical, and thermal design engineers to gather technical data, CAD models, schematics, and design intent to ensure precise document accuracy.
Utilize Jira to track technical documentation tasks, log and resolve bugs/issues, manage release workflows, and maintain alignment with Engineering Change Orders (ECOs/ECNs).
Ensure all technical publications strictly adhere to relevant aviation and aerospace technical authoring standards (e.g., ATA Spec 100, S1000D, or ISO standards).
Support test engineering teams in compiling test plans, procedures, and validation report dossiers required for regulatory compliance and aerospace certification
Convert 3D CAD models (SolidWorks/CATIA) into vector line art, exploded views, and technical illustrations for documentation and manual integration.
B.E. / B.Tech / M.E. / M.Tech in Aerospace, Marine, Mechanical, Electrical or related Process Engineering domains.
2–3 years of hands-on experience in technical writing or technical publications within the aerospace industry, EV/automotive powertrain, transmission, etc
Hands-on proficiency using tools such as Jira, etc for task tracking, managing engineering documentation workflows, and tracking product life cycle & issues.
High proficiency in technical authoring tools (e.g., Enterprise Architect, FrameMaker, or MS Office Suite) and vector graphics software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW Technical Suite).
Strong fundamentals in mechanical assemblies, gearbox/transmission & rotor systems, electric motors, propeller assemblies and general detailed engineering principles.
Ability to navigate 3D CAD tools (SolidWorks, CATIA, or NX) to extract assembly views, dimensions, structural layouts, and cross-sections
