Job summary

Meridian Group International, Inc. is seeking a Power Systems Engineer to oversee provisioning, support, and optimization of Hosted and Managed Services on IBM i environments.

The role includes on-call duties, performance monitoring, and client-facing deployments at client sites and in the company data center. You will mentor junior team members, manage PowerVS hosted customers, and drive improvements across backup, replication, and monitoring tools to ensure high availability and reliability of

Qualifications

• Experience with IBM iSeries journaling and commitment control.
• Experience with replication products such as iCluster, Maxava, Mimix, and PowerHA.
• Experience with the Halcyon suite of products: Enterprise Console, CCM Console, and Operations Center.
• Experience with design and configuration of networked IBM i systems using TCP/IP, SNA, DDM and SNADS.
• Hands-on managing POWER VS hosted customers.
• 5+ years in an IBMi-related role; Bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot IBM i-related issues at hosting and client locations.
• Monitor performance, throughput, availability, and incidents; mentor staff.

JOB TITLE: Power Systems Engineer

REPORTS TO: Manager

LOCATION: Hyderabad

DATE: February 2026

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Power System Administrator is responsible for all aspects of provisioning, supporting, maintaining, and improving both the Hosted Cloud offerings internal to MIT's Data Center and remote managed offerings located on premise at a client's location. This individual is responsible for on-call rotation, escalated support responsibilities, Managed Services implementation which includes, but is not limited to, replication software, backup utilities and system monitoring and management tools.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage client projects associated with Hosted and Managed Services, ensuring all activities are performed timely and accurately.
• Work on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Provide thought leadership and innovation within projects and practice areas.
• Troubleshoot technical issues relating to IBMi within the hosting business and at customer locations.
• Analyze, debug, and resolve problems and faults such as poor performance and system failures.
• Monitor and review performance, throughput, availability, and exception incidents.
• Mentor Operators and other System Administrators.
• Monitor and maintain IBM PowerVS cloud environments, ensuring high availability and optimal performance of IBM i, workloads.
• Propose and implement needed improvements.
• Configure and troubleshoot BRMS and eVault.
• Act as System Administrator for all Hosted and Managed Services customers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience with IBM iSeries journaling and commitment control.
• Experience with software-based replication products such as iCluster, Maxava, Mimix, and PowerHA.
• Experience with the Help Systems Halcyon suite of products including:
• Halcyon Enterprise Console (Windows)
• Halcyon CCM Console (Windows)
• Halcyon Operations Center (iSeries)
• Experience with design and configuration of networked IBM I systems using
• TCP/IP
• SNA
• DDM
• SNADS
• Hands-on managing POWER VS hosted customers.
• Good to have Power VS migration experience.
• Good to have IBM Certifications:-
• IBM PowerVS Technical Practitioner
• IBM Power Virtual Server v1 Specialty
• IBM Certified System Administrator - IBM I
• IBM Certified Professional SRE v2 + PowerVS Specialty.
• Expertise with BRMS and eVault.
• Ability to thrive in a small project team environment.
• Passionate about customer service.
• Excellent time management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong analytical and project management skills.
• Ability/willingness to work weekends and evenings.
• 5 or more years' experience in an IBMi-related role;
• Bachelor's degree in computer science is preferred.
