Job Summary

The Power Systems Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, validation, and optimization of power monitoring and analysis solutions for industrial electrical systems. The role involves developing algorithms for power quality analysis, harmonics measurement, motor performance evaluation, and energy monitoring for products such as the Power Quality Analyzer (PQA) and Portable & Universal Motor-Cum-Pump Performance Monitor (PU-MPPM).

Key Responsibilities
Product Development
  • Design and develop power quality measurement solutions for three-phase electrical systems.
  • Define electrical measurement architecture for voltage, current, power, and energy acquisition.
  • Develop algorithms for electrical parameter calculations and real-time analysis.
  • Support hardware and firmware teams in implementing electrical measurement functions.
  • Participate in prototype development, testing, and product validation.
Power Quality Analysis
  • Develop algorithms for:
    • RMS Voltage and Current
    • Active, Reactive, and Apparent Power
    • Power Factor
    • Frequency Measurement
    • Total Harmonic Distortion (THD)
    • Individual Harmonic Analysis
    • Voltage and Current Unbalance
    • Voltage Sag, Swell, and Interruptions
    • Flicker Detection
    • Transient Event Detection
    • Demand Monitoring
    • Energy Consumption Analysis
  • Validate measurement accuracy against IEC standards and reference instruments.
Motor & Pump Performance Analysis
  • Analyze motor electrical performance and efficiency.
  • Correlate electrical parameters with pump operating conditions.
  • Support development of motor diagnostics and condition monitoring algorithms.
  • Assist in energy efficiency assessment and optimization studies.
Testing & Validation
  • Develop electrical test procedures and validation plans.
  • Perform laboratory and field testing.
  • Validate accuracy under different load conditions.
  • Support calibration and performance verification.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with Hardware, Firmware, Embedded Software, Signal Processing, and Cloud Engineering teams.
  • Support commissioning engineers during field trials.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing during product industrialization.
Technical Skills
  • Three-phase power system analysis

Agile & DevOps
  • Participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Manage engineering tasks using Azure DevOps Boards and Repositories.
  • Collaborate with firmware and software teams using Git-based workflows.
  • Contribute to continuous integration, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
  • 5-8 years of experience in power systems, electrical measurements, or power quality analysis.
