Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services in Pune seeks a PostgreSQL DBA to manage production and non-prod databases, including setup, backup/restore, replication, and monitoring. You will perform SQL query tuning and performance optimization, ensure SLA compliance, and troubleshoot P1 incidents while collaborating with app servers and Apache configurations.

Hands-on with PgAdmin and pgBadger for maintenance, reporting, and SOP compliance; proactive in database design and cross‑functional teamwork.

Qualifications

• Experience in Postgres DBA including setup, backup/restore, replication.
• Hands-on SQL performance tuning and query optimization.
• Working production environment experience with P1 issue handling.
• Understanding of App Server and Webserver (Apache) setup and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with PgAdmin and pgBadger tooling.

Responsibilities

• Setup, configure and administer DB, including production and non-prod environments based on requests and tickets.
• Analyze DB schema, queries and optimize for performance.
• Collaborate across cross-functional teams to build robust scalable DB design for product.
• Maintain activities including backup, restore, compliance and other SOP tasks.
• Ensure SLA compliance and participate in incident resolution and monitoring.

Must Have:

• Experience in Postgres Data base Administration including setup, configuration of new instances, backup/restore, replication
• Hands-on in SQL Query tuning, performance tuning
• Working experience on Production Environment and P1 issues
• Understanding of App Server and Webserver ( Apache) setup and configuration, trouble shooting
• Hands on user of PgAdmin, pGBadger tools.
