Job summary

Path Infotech is seeking a seasoned PostgreSQL DBA to architect and manage EDB PostgreSQL deployments. The role emphasizes deep hands-on expertise across PostgreSQL versions 14–17, high availability configurations, and reliable backup strategies using Barman.

The candidate will contribute to project blueprints, risk assessments, test scenarios, and performance testing, ensuring production readiness from an EDB Postgres perspective.

Qualifications

• Deep hands-on experience with PostgreSQL versions 14, 15, 16, and 17.
• Extensive knowledge of high availability and replication, including EFM/PGD.
• Hands-on experience with Barman for backup and restore.
• Observability using PEM for proactive monitoring and tracing.

Responsibilities

• Prepare project blueprints and risk assessments for PostgreSQL deployments.
• Define success criteria and prerequisites for EDB Postgres projects.
• Create test scenarios and run performance testing to identify vulnerabilities.
• Deploy and go-live in production from the EDB Postgres perspective.

Role & responsibilities

Technical expertise: Candidate should have architecting capability on Postgres and associated EDB software products as listed below.

• Core PostgreSQL Database Expertise - The candidate must have deep, hands-on experience with PostgreSQL versions 14, 15, 16, and 17
• High Availability (HA) and Replication - The resource must possess extensive knowledge and practical experience in configuring and maintaining PostgreSQL for high availability. Handson Experience on EFM and PGD will be good fit
• Back-up and Restore Hands on experience on Barman
• Observability – Good knowledge on PEM

Project Execution: The job involves preparing project blue print, Risk assessment, defining Success Criteria, pre-requisites, create test scenarios, run performance testing, eliminate identified vulnerabilities and go live in production from EDB Postgres Database perspective.
