Job summary

OSI Digital is seeking PostgreSQL Database Administrators to strengthen production support and high-availability platforms. The role covers installation, configuration, upgrades, migrations, and tuning of PostgreSQL databases across on-premises and cloud environments.

You will mentor teammates, coordinate with clients, ensure 24x7 availability, and document resolutions to share knowledge.

Qualifications

• Hands-on PostgreSQL 16/17 administration.
• High availability and streaming replication experience.
• Backup and recovery using pg_dump, pg_restore, pg_basebackup, WAL archiving.
• Oracle DB upgrades/migrations using ora2pg.
• Troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.
• Monitoring/alerting PostgreSQL environments.
• Exposure to Redis, MariaDB, MySQL, Valkey, MongoDB is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, administer, and upgrade PostgreSQL servers and related products.
• Mentor the team and support daily DBA tasks and client communication.
• Monitor PostgreSQL databases and troubleshoot availability, performance, connectivity, and replication issues.
• Manage backup, recovery, replication, and high-availability environments.
• Perform database patching, upgrades, migrations, and cloning activities.
• Document resolution steps after fixing issues and provide KT to peers.
• Provide 24x7 production support as part of the team.

OSI Digital is looking for PostgreSQL Database Administrators with rich hands-on experience in PostgreSQL Database Administration. This role provides an excellent opportunity to improve and strengthen technical skills in production support, PostgreSQL high-availability technologies, database upgrades, migrations, cloud technologies, backup and recovery, replication, and performance tuning.

Responsibilities

• Work on installation, configuration, administration, and upgrading of PostgreSQL database servers and related products.
• Work with and mentor the team to support daily DBA tasks and handle client communication.
• Monitor PostgreSQL databases and troubleshoot database availability, performance, connectivity, and replication issues.
• Manage PostgreSQL backup, recovery, replication, and high-availability environments.
• Perform database patching, upgrades, migrations, and cloning activities.
• Document resolution steps after fixing issues and provide the required KT to peers.
• Work as part of a team and provide 24x7 production support.

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL 16/17 Administration.
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL High Availability and Streaming Replication.
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL backup and recovery using tools such as pg_dump, pg_restore, pg_basebackup, and WAL archiving.
• Experience in Oracle Database Upgrades and Migrations using ora2pg.
• Hands-on troubleshooting skills.
• Exposure to Performance tuning.
• Experience with monitoring and alerting tools for PostgreSQL environments.
• Good to have skills on Redis, MariaDB, MySQL, Valkey, MongoDB.
