Job description

A Plumbing Designer is responsible for designing, planning, and coordinating plumbing systems in building projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare plumbing layouts for water supply, drainage, and stormwater systems
• Design and size piping networks, pumps, tanks, and fixtures
• Perform calculations for water demand, pressure, and flow rates
• Develop detailed drawings, schematics, and BOQs
• Coordinate with architectural, structural, and other MEP disciplines
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes and project specifications
• Review shop drawings and assist during construction stages
• Support site teams with technical clarifications

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, or a related field
• 2–8 years of experience in plumbing and fire protection design (depending on role level)
• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit MEP, or other BIM tools
• Knowledge of plumbing codes and standards (local codes, IPC, NBC, etc.)
• Understanding of water supply, drainage, sewage, stormwater, and fire-fighting systems
• Ability to perform hydraulic calculations and pipe sizing
• Familiarity with coordination in MEP services
