Job summary

Renechip Technology Services in Chennai seeks a PLC & SCADA Engineer / System Engineer to join our Industrial Automation team. You will apply hands-on PLC programming, SCADA development, and system integration across industrial projects.

The role requires strong WinCC and Ignition expertise, experience with Allen-Bradley and Siemens PLC platforms, and knowledge of Modbus, OPC UA, Ethernet/IP, Profinet. On-site Chennai position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, Automation, or related field.
• Minimum 5+ years hands-on PLC & SCADA system development.
• Strong expertise in WinCC SCADA and Ignition SCADA.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley and Siemens PLC platforms.
• Knowledge of industrial communication protocols.
• Familiarity with SQL databases and scripting languages Python or Java (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and implement SCADA systems using WinCC and Ignition SCADA.
• Develop and optimize HMIs, alarms, reports, and data logging.
• Program, test, troubleshoot, and commission PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
• Integrate PLC systems with SCADA platforms and networks.
• Work with Modbus, OPC UA, Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Profinet.
• Create technical documentation and system diagrams.
• Ensure compliance with safety and cybersecurity standards.

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced PLC & SCADA Engineer / System Engineer to join our Industrial Automation team. The ideal candidate will have strong hands‑on expertise in PLC programming, SCADA development, and system integration, with a passion for delivering high-quality automation solutions across industrial projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and implement SCADA systems using WinCC and Ignition SCADA.
• Develop and optimize HMI screens, alarm management systems, reports, and data logging functionalities.
• Program, test, troubleshoot, and commission PLC systems, including:
  
  • Allen-Bradley (ControlLogix, CompactLogix)
  • Siemens (S7-1200, S7-1500, S7-300)
• Develop PLC logic using tools such as RSLogix 5000, Studio 5000, TIA Portal, and Step 7.
• Integrate PLC systems with SCADA platforms and industrial communication networks.
• Work with communication protocols including Modbus, OPC UA, Ethernet/IP, Profibus, and Profinet.
• Perform system testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, performance optimization, and root cause analysis.
• Prepare detailed technical documentation, system architecture diagrams, and user manuals.
• Ensure compliance with industrial safety standards and cybersecurity best practices.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, Automation, or a related field.
• Minimum 5+ years of hands‑on experience in PLC & SCADA system development.
• Strong expertise in WinCC SCADA and Ignition SCADA.
• Proven experience with Allen-Bradley and Siemens PLC platforms.
• In-depth knowledge of industrial communication protocols.
