Job summary

Rubiscape is hiring Platform Engineers to build and operate the Internal Developer Platform that powers RubiFlow, RubiStudio, RubiSight, RubiAI, RubiThings and Business Workbench. You will design golden-path templates, self-service environments, and paved-road toolchains to reduce toil while enforcing security and compliance by default.

You will architect a multi-cluster, multi-cloud Kubernetes platform, define cluster topology, build platform services, and drive platform reliability with SLOs

Qualifications

• Deep Kubernetes expertise including multi-cluster setups and policies.
• Experience designing an Internal Developer Platform or developer portal.
• Strong Terraform skills and policy-as-code tooling experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and own the Internal Developer Platform (IDP) including self-service environments and CI/CD workflows.
• Architect and operate a multi-cluster, multi-cloud Kubernetes platform (EKS/AKS/GKE).
• Build and maintain platform services: secrets, certificates, service mesh, and load balancing.
• Enforce infrastructure standards using policy-as-code across teams.
• Own developer toolchain setup and ephemeral preview environments.
• Advance platform reliability with SLOs, error budgets, and remediation runbooks.
• Create developer-facing docs and run platform office hours for onboarding.

Job description

Platform Engineers at Rubiscape build the internal developerplatform that every product squad — across RubiFlow, RubiStudio, RubiSight,RubiAI, RubiThings, and Business Workbench — relies on to ship with speed andconfidence. You will design golden-path templates, self-service environments,and paved-road toolchains that eliminate toil and enforce security andcompliance guardrails by default. Rubiscape's platform is deployed across SaaS,BYOC, hybrid, on-premises, and air-gapped modes for Fortune 500 customers; theinternal platform must accommodate all these deployment surfaces withoutfragmenting the developer experience. Key Responsibilities

• Designand own the Internal Developer Platform (IDP) — including self-serviceenvironment provisioning, service catalogue templates (Backstage orequivalent), and golden-path CI/CD workflows that product squads adopt bydefault.
• Architectand operate a multi-cluster, multi-cloud Kubernetes platform using EKS, AKS,and GKE; define cluster topology, node pool strategies, and upgrade runbooks.
• Buildand maintain platform-level services: secrets management (Vault), certificatemanagement (cert-manager), service mesh (Istio or Linkerd), and internal loadbalancing.
• Defineinfrastructure standards and enforce them via policy-as-code (OPA/Gatekeeper,Kyverno) — ensuring resource tagging, network policy, and image provenancerequirements are met across all teams.
• Ownthe developer toolchain: local development environment setup (Dev Containers,Tilt, Skaffold), code quality gates, and ephemeral preview environmentpipelines.
• Driveplatform reliability through SLO definitions, error budgets, and automatedremediation runbooks for common platform failure modes.
• Producedeveloper-facing documentation and run platform office hours to acceleratesquad onboarding and reduce ticket load on the platform team.

Nice to Have

• Experiencewith service mesh (Istio or Linkerd) in production multi-tenant Kubernetesclusters.
• Contributionsto open-source platform tooling or internal platform conference speaking.
• Exposureto data/ML platform workloads — Spark Operator, Kubeflow, Ray, or MLflow onKubernetes.
• Knowledgeof FinOps practices and experience implementing chargeback or showback forplatform cost allocation.

Requirements

• 4+years in platform engineering, infrastructure engineering, or a senior DevOpsrole with explicit platform-product ownership.
• DeepKubernetes expertise including multi-cluster federation, admission controllers,custom controllers/operators, and cluster API.
• Experiencedesigning and operating an Internal Developer Platform or developer portal —Backstage, Cortex, or equivalent.
• StrongTerraform skills including provider plugin development or custom module librarydesign.
• Hands-onexperience with policy-as-code tools (OPA, Gatekeeper, Kyverno) in multi-teamenvironments.
• Excellentwritten communication skills — platform engineers at Rubiscape write ADRs,runbooks, and RFC-style proposals that engineering leadership reviews.
