Job summary

Mavenir is seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop and test software for Linux-based embedded systems and SDR platforms. You will integrate FPGA components with software, manage radio initialization and calibration, and build high-performance Ethernet networking features.

The role requires strong C/C++ skills, SDR experience, and knowledge of timing synchronization. Candidates should have 7+ years in embedded software and a degree in Electronics, CS, or Embedded

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in embedded software development.
• Experience with Linux-based embedded platforms including device drivers and HALs.
• Hands-on FPGA-software integration and SDR platforms (USRP/UHD/RFNoC).
• Knowledge of high-speed networking (Ethernet 10G/100G), TCP/IP, and eCPRI/O-RAN transport.
• Experience with secure software upgrade frameworks and timing/synchronization (GPSDO, PTP, PPS).
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, Computer Science, Embedded Systems or related field.

Responsibilities

• Integrate FPGA blocks with PS/PL software and manage radio init/calibration flows.
• Develop high-performance Ethernet networking modules and APIs.

Role Summary

Plans, designs, develops and tests software systems or applications for software enhancements and new products including cloud-based or internet-related tools.
May use common development methodologies such as Waterfall and Agile.

Key Responsibilities

• Embedded Software Development
  • Design and develop software on Linux-based USRP Processing Subsystem.
  • Develop FPGA register access services and hardware abstraction layers.
  • Implement configuration and management frameworks.
  • Develop secure remote software upgrade mechanisms.
  • Integrate UHD APIs and RFNoC frameworks.

  • Interface PS software with FPGA PL blocks.
  • Manage radio initialization and calibration flows.

Job Requirements

• Strong proficiency in C/C++ programming on Linux-based embedded platforms , including device drivers, hardware abstraction layers (HAL), and system-level software development.
• Hands-on experience with FPGA-software integration, SDR platforms (USRP/UHD/RFNoC) , register access mechanisms, and radio initialization/calibration workflows.
• Solid knowledge of high-speed networking technologies, including Ethernet (10G/100G), TCP/IP, packet processing, eCPRI/O-RAN transport, and performance optimization for latency and throughput.
• Experience in secure software upgrade frameworks, timing and synchronization technologies (GPSDO, PTP, PPS), and debugging complex embedded systems involving FPGA, RF, and networking components
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, Computer Science, Embedded Systems, or a related engineering discipline with 7+ years of experience in embedded software development
