Job summary

Mavenir is seeking a highly skilled Packet Core Support Engineer with strong expertise in 4G/5G core networks. You will own end-to-end customer issues, perform deep troubleshooting of packet core nodes, and collaborate with R&D and system teams to deliver timely solutions.

Qualifications

• End-to-end troubleshooting of Packet Core in live networks.
• Knowledge of 4G LTE call flows and 5G Core concepts.
• Hands-on with cloud-based EPC/5GC deployments.
• Experience with cloud and virtualization technologies (RHOS, Docker, Kubernetes, hardware).
• Proficient in Linux-based systems.
• Strong troubleshooting with Wireshark and protocol analyzers.

Responsibilities

• Perform end-to-end troubleshooting of Packet Core solutions in live customer networks.
• Analyze and resolve complex issues related to 4G/5G call flows, signaling, and data sessions.
• Work independently with R&D, System Test, and internal engineering teams to identify root causes and fixes.
• Support and troubleshoot VoLTE, VoWiFi, IoT, and other advanced telecom services.
• Engage directly with customers to drive issue resolution, provide explanations, and recommend solutions.
• Participate in on-site or remote customer support and travel as required by business needs.

Role Summary

The role involves end-to-end ownership of customer issues, deep troubleshooting of packet core nodes, and close collaboration with R&D and system teams to deliver timely and effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform end-to-end troubleshooting of Packet Core solutions in live customer networks.
• Analyze and resolve complex issues related to 4G/5G call flows, signaling, and data sessions.
• Work independently with R&D, System Test (ST), and internal engineering teams to identify root causes and implement fixes.
• Support and troubleshoot VoLTE, VoWiFi, IoT, and other advanced telecom services.
• Engage directly with customers to drive issue resolution, provide technical explanations, and recommend solutions.
• Participate in on-site or remote customer support and travel as required by business needs.

Technical Skills & Experience

• Strong end-to-end understanding of Packet Core architecture and solutions.
• Deep knowledge of 4G LTE call flows and good understanding of 5G Core concepts.
• Hands-on experience with cloud-based EPC / 5GC deployments.
• Good understanding of cloud and virtualization technologies, including:
  • Red Hat OpenStack (RHOS)
  • Docker / Containers
  • Kubernetes
  • Deployment on Dell / HP hardware platforms
• Proficient in Linux-based systems (command line, logs, services, performance analysis).
• Strong troubleshooting skills using tools such as Wireshark and other protocol analyzers.
