A Plaster Technician assists orthopedic doctors in applying, removing, and maintaining plaster casts, splints, and other immobilization devices for patients with fractures, injuries, and musculoskeletal conditions.

• Prepare patients for plaster and cast procedures.


• Assist orthopedic doctors during cast and splint application.


• Apply plaster casts and splints according to established clinical instructions and scope of practice.


• Prepare plaster materials, fiberglass materials, padding, and related supplies.


• Assist with cast removal using appropriate equipment.
