The General Duty Assistant will assist patients and healthcare staff with routine support activities, transportation of patients and materials, basic departmental assistance, and maintaining a safe and organized hospital environment.

• Assist patients with movement and transportation within the hospital.
• Support patients in transferring between beds, wheelchairs, and stretchers as instructed.
• Assist nursing staff with non-clinical patient support activities.
• Transport patients to diagnostic, treatment, and other hospital departments.
• Help maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned patient-care areas.
• Transport medical supplies, files, samples, and other authorized materials between departments.
• Assist in preparing patient rooms and beds as required.
• Support admission, transfer, and discharge-related activities.
• Assist elderly, physically challenged, and dependent patients with mobility needs.
• Ensure wheelchairs, stretchers, and patient transport equipment are available and clean.
• Follow instructions provided by nurses, supervisors, and department heads.
• Support emergency patient movement and transportation when required.
• Follow infection prevention and control procedures.
• Handle hospital materials carefully and responsibly.
• Report damaged equipment, hazards, or safety concerns to supervisors.
