Gi Group in Pune is seeking a Manufacturing head to lead all manufacturing operations at the Pune Plant. The role partners with the India Operations Head to drive operational excellence, deliver high‑quality products safely, efficiently and on time, and shape the future of manufacturing.

You will design the manufacturing organization, build a strong team culture, and implement processes to support ambitious growth.

Qualifications

• 16–24 years of experience in manufacturing operations with 5–7 years in senior leadership.
• Engineering graduate (Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial) with a masters degree preferred.
• Proven ability to build and scale diverse teams with collaboration and safety.
• Inclusive communicator who inspires trust across a global workforce.
• Strategic thinker with hands-on leadership in a fast-paced environment.
• Good understanding of local laws, dealing with local authorities and government interfaces.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

• Manufacturing head is a key leadership role, responsible for overseeing all manufacturing operations activities at Pune Plant.
• Manufacturing head will work closely with the India Operations Head to drive operational excellence and shape the future of manufacturing, ensuring we deliver high-quality products safely, efficiently, and on time.
• This role requires a strategic mindset combined with strong execution abilities to set up manufacturing operations and scale up as per requirements.
• You will collaborate across functions to design the manufacturing organization, build a strong team culture, and operationalize processes that support our ambitious growth plans. Once established, you will lead all manufacturing operations, balancing strategic vision with hands-on execution.
• He/she needs to collaborate with global operations teams to realize the group manufacturing strategy. Going forward, some of the products may be moved from other countries to India and it may need to expand the technical and manufacturing capacities in the plant.
• Ensure adequate investigation of any safety incidents, root cause analysis and implementation of the corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Adopt and adapt to Production Management, Continuous Improvement & Lean Leadership culture.
• Implement strategies to optimize production output, optimize costs and maintain product quality standards.
• Lead and motivate production teams to achieve production targets and quality objectives.

Preferred candidate profile

• 16-24 years of experience in manufacturing operations with strong grasp of processes, efficiency systems and end to end plant management, including 5-7 years in senior leadership roles, preferably with greenfield or large-scale project experience.
• Engineering graduate (Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial) with a masters degree in Engineering, Operations, or Business Management preferred.
• Proven ability to build, lead, and scale diverse teams with a focus on collaboration, accountability, and safety.
• Authentic, inclusive communicator who inspires trust and engagement across a global workforce.
• Strategic thinker with hands-on leadership skills, able to balance long-term vision with day-to-day execution in a fast-paced environment
• Good understanding of Local Laws, dealing with Local Authorities and Government interfaces
