  • Industry Knowledge - Demonstrate expertise in logistics operations, production alignment, and dispatch efficiency.

Purpose/Objective
  • The Head Plant Logistics is responsible for managing the entire logistics process, from order management to dispatch planning, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of products.
  • This role handles transport union relations, coordinates logistics for inbound materials, optimizes freight costs, and monitors performance metrics.
  • By leading a dedicated team and collaborating with external partners, the Head Plant Logistics ensures operational excellence and cost-effective transportation solutions.
Key Responsibilities of Role
  • Order Management and Dispatch Planning: - Monitor and manage orders received via SAP, prioritizing dispatches based on truck size and delivery urgency.
  • - Plan and execute dispatches from the plant to warehouses/Dealers, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
  • Transport and Material Logistics: - Oversee transport union relations and manage logistics for inward materials (clinker and fly ash, etc.) and outward final product (cement).
  • - Coordinate with transporters and railway authorities to optimize loading times and minimize delays.
  • Freight and Cost Management: - Analyse and manage freight costs for various modes of dispatch, including road and rail.
  • - Ensure cost-effective transportation solutions while maintaining service quality.
  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting: - Conduct loading time analyses to ensure dispatches are completed within specified time frames.
  • - Track and report daily dispatch metrics, including mix of dispatches and freight costs.
  • Team Leadership and Coordination: - Lead and support the In Charge Trucking, Team Member - Team Trucking, In Charge Rail, and Team Member - Team Rail positions.
  • - Facilitate effective communication and coordination within the logistics team to achieve operational goals.
  • Commercial Acumen - Drive commercial success by contributing to the development and implementation of strategies that enhance revenue and market position.
  • - Identify and leverage new business opportunities to maximize organizational growth.
  • Compliance with Legal and Regulatory Standards - Ensure adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, and corporate policies within Logistics.
  • - Conduct regular compliance audits to monitor adherence to legal and regulatory standards.
  • - Prepare and submit detailed compliance reports to senior management, highlighting areas of concern and improvement.
  • Ethical Standards - Use ethical reasoning to guide decisions, considering the broader impact on the organization and stakeholders.
  • - Ensure all communications, both verbal and written, reflect the organization’s commitment to integrity and ethics.
  • Ethics and Governance Integration - Ensure that ethical guidelines are integrated into all aspects of departmental planning and operations.
  • - Align departmental activities with the organization’s governance framework, ensuring compliance with established policies.
  • - Establish accountability measures to ensure adherence to governance and ethical standards across the department.
  • Internal Controls and Risk Management - Develop and implement robust internal control systems to safeguard against financial and operational leakages.
  • - Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential threats to departmental operations.

  • Policy Adherence and Development - Implement and enforce organizational policies to maintain consistency and alignment with corporate objectives.
