Job summary

D-tech Management Resource invites applications for a Senior Supply Chain & Logistics Manager to oversee end-to-end logistics, rail handling, and bulk material movement by road and rail in Maharashtra.

You will coordinate with CHA, shipping lines, DGFT, and suppliers, optimize transport modes, negotiate contracts, and ensure cost-effective, on-time delivery, while managing SOPs and ERP documentation.

• Graduate with MBA/PGDM in SCM/Logistics/Transport

Responsibilities

• Handle inbound & outbound logistics planning and execution for bulk raw materials.
• Coordinate railway siding operations, rail/road transport, and indent planning.
• Plan and ensure smooth in-bound and out-bound railway logistics; liaise with railway officials.
• Optimize use of rail and road transport; manage bulk EXIM operations and negotiations with CHA/shipping lines.
• Plan procurement and execution of plant, machinery, raw materials, store and consumables.
• Develop SOPs for commercial & logistics activities and monitor performance of transporters.
• Coordinate with godowns and transporters to meet customer delivery needs; monitor costs and delivery norms.
• Provide strong communication between divisions regarding material status and delivery.
• Negotiate transportation/consultancy contracts; ensure inventory readiness for production targets.

Job description

Key Responsibility :-

• Handling Inbound & outbound logistics, bulk raw material handling by rail and road both. Railway siding management, inward & outward rakes handling and indent planning
• Plan & ensure smooth operation of in-Bound and Out-Bound railways logistics. Railways siding operations, related liaisoning with railway officials for smooth operations.
• Optimize use of all kind of mode of transports Rail / Road
• Handling of Bulk EXIM operations involving both Exports & Imports, liasioning with the CHA / Shipping Lines for Rate negotiation / Contract, Other Govt. Bodies like DGFT etc.
• Planning, Procurement & Execution of Plant & Machinery, Raw material / Store & Consumable Steel Plant & coal based power plant.
• Budget data compilation and adherence to the approved targets. Data /documentary compilation and management thereof
• Devising scope of work and collection & comparative evaluation of pricing, terms /condition for different activities, as required from time to time
• Formulation of standard Operating procedure (SOP) for commercial & logistics activities pertaining to both project imports as well as raw material imports etc.
• Devising and effectuating innovative strategies for ensuring smooth transportation of goods throughout country resulting in customer satisfaction.
• Addressing every needs of the customer by proper co ordination with Godowns and Transporters.
• Taking adequate measures to monitor and analyze the performance of transporters pertaining to cost, quality and delivery norms.
• Supervising operations of cross functional units to achieve efficiency in all aspects of customer service delivery cycle, ensuring timely delivery, timely MIS and proof of delivery.
• Coordinating with the CHA and Suppliers for custom clearance.

Supply Chain / Material Management

• Providing and facilitating strong communication chain between & the different divisions in order to receive inquiries about status of material, requisition, dispatch information and delivery status.
• Coordination with venders for smooth supply necessary equipment, Raw materials from end to end supply
• Monitoring and controlling freight and other operation expenses through cost analysis, choosing appropriate CHA and providing desire support for timely execution of work.
• Negotiation of Transportation contract / Consultancy contract etc.
• Meeting customer orders by implementing and monitoring effective procurement schedules along with finalizing the specifications of the materials and establishing the quality & quantity limits for effective inventory control.
• Streamlining the system and procedures for effective inventory control for ensuring ready availability of materials to meet the production targets.
• Affecting opportune sale of surplus, scrap and by-products for maximum value realization.
• Handling fast, slow and non moving items and their movements.

IT Skill :-

• Good experience in export import documentation and has knowledge of SAP MM.

Qualification :-

• Graduate with MBA/PGDM in field of SCM/Logistics/Transport
