Job summary

Thompsons Hr Consulting is seeking a Planning & Productivity Engineer/Manager for PMC – Power Generation / Renewable Energy Projects in Gujarat. The role focuses on identifying efficiency blockers and driving productivity across engineering, procurement, and construction activities.

You will monitor progress, develop KPI dashboards, conduct root-cause analysis, and coordinate with PMO teams to implement performance improvements and reporting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
  • About 20+ years in planning, controls, productivity or PMO.
  • Experience in Power Generation, Renewable Energy, infrastructure, EPC or PMC projects preferred.
  • Strong KPI development and dashboard reporting skills.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor project progress and productivity versus schedules and targets.
  • Analyze performance data to identify efficiency factors.
  • Develop KPIs and dashboards for monitoring and reporting.
  • Identify efficiency blockers and recommend corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with planning, construction, engineering, procurement and PMO teams to support improvements.
  • Track implementation of improvement initiatives and report on results.

Job Description Planning & Productivity Engineer / Manager

PMC – Power Generation / Renewable Energy Projects

Job Purpose

The Planning & Productivity Engineer is responsible for identifying, analyzing, and improving project execution efficiency across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities. The role focuses on tracking productivity performance, identifying efficiency blockers, developing improvement initiatives, and driving implementation of productivity enhancement actions.

Key Responsibilities
Planning & Performance Monitoring
  • Monitor project progress, productivity trends, and performance against approved schedules and targets.
  • Analyze project performance data and identify factors impacting efficiency and productivity.
  • Develop performance metrics and productivity KPIs for project monitoring and reporting.
Efficiency Improvement
  • Identify and analyze efficiency blockers affecting project execution, work fronts, resource utilization, and workflow performance.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis of productivity losses and recommend corrective actions.
  • Develop proposals for process improvements, organizational adjustments, and execution strategies to enhance project performance.
  • Evaluate project delivery processes and recommend opportunities for productivity optimization.
Action Management & Follow-up
  • Track implementation of agreed improvement initiatives and monitor their effectiveness.
  • Follow up with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders on productivity enhancement actions.
  • Monitor recovery plans and corrective measures for underperforming areas.
  • Ensure timely closure of identified performance gaps and bottlenecks.
Coordination & Reporting
  • Coordinate with planning, construction, engineering, procurement, and PMO teams to support productivity improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare productivity dashboards, KPI reports, trend analyses, and management presentations.
  • Highlight critical risks, constraints, and opportunities impacting project performance.
  • Support project management in decision-making through performance analytics and recommendations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related discipline.
Experience
  • 20+ years of experience in Planning, Project Controls, Productivity Analysis, Construction Management, or PMO functions.
  • Experience in Power Generation, Renewable Energy, Infrastructure, EPC, or PMC projects preferred.
