Job summary

Thompsons Hr Consulting is seeking a Planning & Controls Engineer for PMC Power Generation and Renewable Energy projects in India. You will develop and maintain detailed schedules for engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning, and monitor progress against baselines to ensure milestones are met.

You will produce weekly and monthly reports, support schedule risk analysis, coordinate with contractors, and help prepare recovery plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management is required.
• 10-15 years of experience in Planning, Scheduling, or Project Controls.
• Experience with Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed schedules for engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
• Update schedules based on progress from project stakeholders.
• Monitor actual vs. planned progress and identify deviations.
• Track critical activities, milestones and deliverables.
• Support recovery plans and schedule mitigation measures.
• Monitor open items, action trackers, and interface registers.
• Prepare weekly and monthly progress, KPI reports and dashboards.
• Support schedule risk analysis and forecasting activities.
• Coordinate with contractors and project teams to validate progress information.
• Assist in monitoring contract milestones, variations and claims from a schedule perspective.
• Maintain project reporting tools and planning databases.
• Support productivity analysis and identify project execution constraints.
• Participate in progress review meetings and prepare meeting reports.
• Ensure planning and reporting activities comply with procedures and client requirements.

Job Purpose

The Planning & Controls Engineer is responsible for supporting project scheduling, progress monitoring, reporting, action tracking, and performance analysis activities to ensure successful project execution and timely achievement of project milestones.
