Job summary

Antal International seeks a Plant Head to establish and lead a state-of-the-art 10 GWh Li-ion battery pack assembly facility in Bengaluru. You will own end-to-end plant setup, commissioning, and production operations with a strong focus on safety and quality.

You will drive workforce development, implement Lean/Six Sigma, and partner with SCM, EHS, and Technology to achieve scale, profitability, and excellence in delivery.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Industrial Engineering or related discipline.
• Direct involvement in large-scale manufacturing setup and ramp-up in EV/BESS sectors.
• Strong expertise in MWh and GWh level production, containerized BESS solutions, and advanced automation systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the setup of the greenfield Li-ion battery pack assembly facility from concept to full-scale production.
• Define plant layout, equipment selection, installation, automation requirements, and production workflow design.
• Ensure adherence to project timelines, cost objectives, compliance, and quality standards.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Supply Chain, EHS, Quality, and Technology teams for seamless commissioning.
• Oversee full-scale production operations delivering MWh and GWh level containerized battery energy storage solutions.
• Define and manage KPIs for productivity, yield, safety, delivery, and overall OEE.
• Drive digital manufacturing implementation including MES, automation, and data-driven decision-making.
• Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing workforce including engineers, supervisors, and technicians.
• Establish a strong culture of safety, operational discipline, continuous improvement, and accountability.
• Enable talent development and succession planning to support rapid business scale-up.
• Work closely with SCM to ensure availability of cells, modules, BMS, enclosures, and raw materials.
• Optimize inventory planning, vendor performance, and logistics efficiency for uninterrupted operations.
• Implement world-class Quality Management Systems (ISO/TS standards).
• Ensure best-in-class EHS practices tailored to Li-ion battery handling, storage, and manufacturing.
• Ensure plant operations comply with national and international regulatory requirements.
• Drive Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S, and continuous improvement projects.
• Monitor plant budget, cost drivers, and profitability targets.

This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role involving end-to-end ownership of plant setup, commissioning, production operations, workforce development, and continuous improvement.

• Define plant layout, equipment selection, installation, automation requirements, and production workflow design.
• Ensure adherence to project timelines, cost objectives, compliance, and quality standards.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Supply Chain, EHS, Quality, and Technology teams for seamless commissioning.
• Oversee full-scale production operations delivering MWh and GWh level containerized battery energy storage solutions.

• Ensure strict compliance with global standards for battery performance, traceability, and EV/BESS industry norms.

• Establish a strong culture of safety, operational discipline, continuous improvement, and accountability.
