Job summary

Saipem is seeking a Piping Layout Engineer with a BE in Mechanical Engineering and 7+ years of experience to lead a team of Designers & Draftsmen in Chennai. The role covers Bid, FEED, and Detail Design phases, focusing on piping layouts, systems and supports, and verification of essential deliverables.

The successful candidate will review vendor drawings, coordinate with other disciplines for IDR, and monitor 3D model progress, ensuring timely and accurate documentation throughout the project

Qualifications

• Leading a team of designers and draftsmen.
• Experience across Bid, FEED, and Detail Design phases in piping.
• Design and verification of piping layouts, systems and supports.
• Review of key piping deliverables like Plot Plans, layouts, isometrics and GA drawings.

Responsibilities

• Effectively lead and manage a team of Designers & Draftsmen.
• Strong exposure to Bid, FEED, and Detail Design phases of piping activities.
• Design and verify Piping Layouts, Piping Systems, and Supports.
• Check and verify key piping deliverables including Plot Plans, Equipment Layouts, Isometrics, and Piping General Arrangement Drawings.
• Prepare Piping Material Take-Off (MTO) during Bid, FEED, and Detail Design phases.
• Review Vendor Drawings and incorporate relevant inputs into the 3D model.
• Monitor and report 3D model progress.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines for Inter-Discipline Review (IDR) of engineering and vendor documents.
