Job summary

DEIC-L&T Precision Engineering & Systems IC is seeking an experienced engineer to plan and execute piping projects for repair, refit, and conversion of ships at the Kattupalli yard. The role requires 8–12 years of experience and a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, with strong knowledge of piping and marine systems, safety compliance, and ERP/MS Office usage.

Responsibilities include micro-planning, BOM preparation, SOW identification, and coordinating with multiple departments to ensure on-time

Qualifications

• Planning and execution of piping jobs of repair/refit/conversion of ships.
• Timely completion of piping jobs as per scope of work.
• Compliance of safety and quality norms of Ship yard.
• Managing subcontractor’s manpower and adherence of job schedule.
• Ensuring the smooth work flow, coordinating with inter-departments.
• Identification of SOW.
• Microplanning and scheduling.
• Preparation of Drawing & BOM.
• Raising of various material and service PRs.
• Execution of SOW as per DLs.
• Ensuring EHS and Quality norms.
• Undertaking various inspection, HATs and SATs
• Sound knowledge on ship’s system and equipment.
• Competency in pipe fabrication, erection and commissioning.
• Reading and preparation of drawings and BOM.
• Sound domain knowledge on Piping & Marine related systems.
• Working experience on Refit ships on Piping/Engineering systems.
• Working knowledge on MS office and ERP
• Exposure on shipyard safety and quality norms.

Responsibilities

• Uphold safety and quality norms of the shipyard.
• Manage subcontractor manpower and schedule adherence.
• Coordinate with inter-departments to ensure smooth workflow.
• Identify SOW and plan accordingly.
• Microplan and schedule activities.
• Prepare drawings and BOM as required.
• Raise PRs for materials and services.
• Execute SOW per DLs and ensure compliance.
• Maintain EHS and quality standards; supervise inspections and tests.
• Possess sound knowledge of ship systems and equipment.
• Demonstrate competency in pipe fabrication, erection, and commissioning.
• Read and prepare drawings and BOM; apply piping/marine domain knowledge.
• Gain experience in refit ships related piping/engineering systems.
• Utilize MS Office and ERP in daily tasks.
• Adhere to shipyard safety and quality norms.
