Job summary

DEIC-L&T Precision Engineering & Systems IC, based at Kattupalli Port, Tamil Nadu, seeks an experienced piping engineer with 8–12 years of shipyard experience. The role involves planning and executing piping work for ship repair, refit and conversions, ensuring safety, quality and on-time delivery.

The candidate will manage subcontractors, prepare drawings and BOMs, and coordinate with inter-departments to maintain schedule and reporting. Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (DME) is required.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (DME) required.
• 8–12 years of experience in piping and shipyard projects.
• Experience in planning, scheduling and coordination; knowledge of safety and quality norms.

Responsibilities

• Planning and execution of piping jobs for repair/refit/conversion of ships.
• Ensure timely completion as per scope of work and DLs.
• Maintain safety and quality norms in shipyard operations.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, departments and prepare reports.
• Prepare drawings, BOM and raise PRs for materials and services.

Planning and execution of piping jobs of repair/refit/conversion of ships.Timely completion of piping jobs as per scope of work.Compliance of safety and quality norms of Ship yard.Managing subcontractor’s manpower and adherence of job schedule.Ensuring the smooth work flow, coordinating with inter-departments.Rendering various Reports etcIdentification of SOW.Microplanning and scheduling.Preparation of Drawing & BOM.Raising of various material and service PRs.Execution of SOW as per DLs.Ensuring EHS and Quality norms.Undertaking various inspection, HATs and SATsSound knowledge on ship’s system and equipment.Competency in pipe fabrication, erection and commissioning.Reading and preparation of drawings and BOM.Sound domain knowledge on Piping & Marine related systems.Working experience on Refit ships on Piping/Engineering systems.Piping fabrication, erection knowledge.Leadership qualities.Working knowledge on MS office and ERPExposure on shipyard safety and quality norms.
